New Grower DP Auto Ultimate-LED-NFT Grow.

so, fimming/lst to the right plant has resulted in around 30 colas and topping/lst to the left around 20. the vast majority of wich are hidden under the foliage and i dont really want to do anymore training incase this number goes up. i think i need to do some decent defol. heard loads of folk saying not to but im pretty sure its neccesary. how much can i get away with? anyone got suggestions on how to best deal with my drama? running out of space rapid style. thought theyd grow taller so i could just pin them down outwards but im panacking a bit now lol.

Defoliation is the key to big yields. I've used it on all my autos and only messed up one out 25-30 plants.

First find a big fat fan in the center of the plant, one with several buds being blocked and pluck it off. Leave some of the leaf stem sticking out. Don't take more than one leave from a single cola.

Try taking four leaves and then decide if you want to do more. I'd probably take 6 or 8 this time, but I'm a bit aggressive sometimes.

Glad it's been 30 years since my last hangover.[emoji44]

cheers @jingo. ive been taking the odd knackered leaves off without worry but wasnt too sure about this. thankfulky most of the big leaves seem to be comming from the main stems so based on your advice should be able to lop em off without any issues. i still cant get iver how these things have grown. its fuckin chaos under that canopy. the plants are 10" now with most of the colas stuck at about 6" unable to break through. ill be spending some quality time with them tomorrow so ill get some before and afters up. thanks bro always appreciated : )

oh, why do i have to leave some of the stem? is it to stop it regrowing?
It's s habit I've gotten into. If you have ever topped a plant and then later on it split, that is way less likely if you top with a lot of extra stem left over.

It will also reduce the risk of introducing disease into the plant since the stem that sticks out dries up faster. I've even tied leaves down to the stumps I left. So I for it that way on everything by habit.

@jingo whats your thoughts on amputating a couple of colas that are a bit underdeveloped and generally just getting in my way? not planning it right now but think i possibly may have to in a few days. REEEEAAAAALLLLYYY wish i hadnt put 2 A/U in that fuckin tank lol

of course anyone else feel free to offer your opinions. @archie gemmill @guerillagrower#65 @KushNFT @joke any opinions on the matter? im really struggling for space and feel the rest of the plant would benefit from it. could be doing with losing a lot. maybe 50 colas between the 2 already and got a lot more training to do! ive made and learned from that many mistakes that ill happily say theyll be double the size next time so im up for seeing what a bit of BDSM will do? obviously not if you all tell me not to tho : ) im brave but not a moron lol

i grow in a way different way from you.
but looking at plants they look super healthy real bushy to.they could maybe help if you found the oldest of fans, take half a dozen off as tucking them aint doing much.
maybe they fine and will have a growth spurt soon, that will sort out the bushyness itself.
im only guessing, others will have a better idea.
good luck.
