Dutch Passion DP Auto Night Queen with GN HS1

Ohh Fishmix is a stinker alright im using on my photoperiod grow which i still need to document. Hope you were able to get the sthink out. Im subbed now man sorry i was so late.

Thanks! The spillage wasn't huge so it's all fixed now. You've not missed much so far, I'm really not showing off what the genetics can do, unfortunately.

She's on course to be my smallest ever plant and I have no idea why, temperatures have been lovely between 25 and 28C, I'm using lightmix (for a change) and I think I've kept the feeds around the right place and she's looked happy and healthy the whole way. If the blueberry stays tiny then I'll have to start isolating variables properly to find the issue...

Day 39

She's a whole 300mm tall! A happy single cola plant, it's just a shame she's in a 15L pot.

Day 43

Stretch has stopped at 300mm and she's well into flower now. She's a very strange tiny little plant! The genetics are obviously capable of loads more as TaNg and Hazy have shown, my question now is how did I manage to stunt this poor little plant?!

My latest theory is I don't have the headroom to use the mars panel on seedlings. I think this because all my plants since I've had it (my last TD, this ANQ and the ABB which is on day 20 now) have looked stunted by about day 15-20. So I'm thinking the packing 5W leds and not much in the way of optics in front of them might be causing issues for the seedlings. Anyone come across this before?

So, in any case I've taken the mars out for now, will see how the ABB does with a share of the HS1. The ABB has sped up the last two days since I did this, but then we're expecting stretch to kick in about now, so I'm not reading too much into that. If anyone has any better ideas I'm all ears!

Few shots of the ANQ, the silver lining in this case being it's a piece of piss to get all of her in shot...

Hi
I wouldnt have thought that the LED would interfere with the growth of the seedling but i have not used that brand so i cannot say for sure. i know she is small man but she looks really healthy and happy.

Thanks man, yeah she's looking happy and I'm sure she'll fatten up nicely!

I dont think it's an issue with the LED as such, more that my headroom is a bit tight so I think I have it too close for seedlings. I can only just get it to the recommended height and I'd like it a little higher than that for the first couple of weeks. So I'm testing the theory, if it's not the light I'll try a new bag of soil and maybe check my tap water isn't the problem.

As always you're taking lovely pictures Derek. Too bad to see you've got another small plant, but like Grim said, she's looking mighty healthy. It sounds quite plausible to me that too much light could be stunting your plants at an early age. Have you tried vegging under only the HS1?

I like that you're growing Auto Blueberry. Mine are on day 54 and they smell absolutely delicious. The smell is right up there with Blackberry Kush. Good luck with the BB!

I'm not too upset with the small plants, I only need about 50g a plant to keep me going so it's not a big problem, but I'm an engineer so have a compulsive need to 'fix' things. So I pulled the Auto Blueberry seedling as it was tiny and I need a test subject, I've dropped a new ABB seed into fresh pot and it's all just below the HS1 now, so in a few weeks we'll have an idea if the light is the issue.

I think I'll add the mars for flower if everything is going ok. If I can come anywhere close to how yours are going I'll be happy!

I hear you Derek, I'm an engineer too, and a perfectionist at that  I feel the need to get everything right, preferably the first time I try.

I hope you nail your new ABB!
I vegged my ABB seedlings under half of a HS1 with an 80°x80° diffuser at less than 30cm away, and they turned out pretty OK. I don't even have an optimal climate (22°C day, 18-19°C night and >55%RH). I think you'll do pretty well if you start with just the HS1 and add your Mars LED for flower. What's your climate like?

I don't think you've stunted it there's I guy on another forum who's plant is exactly the same size maybe DP need to rework
this auto so people don't end up with bonsai size pheno's

I'm fairly sure this was me, the last ABB I grew was a small pheno and was still twice the height, and had a proper branching structure, this is barely 300mm and all of the branches are in the bottom 100mm and only about 100mm long. I just don't see that being a problem with the genetics.

Ah that explains your rather tidy growspace! You've nailed it the last couple of grows, it's been great to see.

I'm using the 80°x80° diffuser (mostly as I dont have another) so she'll have half of that from the start, the ANQ means it's a little higher at about 500mm, but I honestly would take a leggy plant right now!

She should fatten up and get resinous quickly. Its possible that the genetics have just thrown you a squat indica bush plant, a little smaller than we would like to see. But like I said, she should deliver some nice quality buds and hopefully a plum main bloom. Your light theory is possible, old school growers will always say to have the light raised up to max hight (or have a smaller light for seedlings). Other main causes of stunted autos are temperatures on the low side, over watering and over feeding. But like I said, it could just be a smaller than average plant
