Does unused soil from a bag need air in storage inside?

If I buy a 50L bag of biobizz light soil mix but I only use like 1/4 of the bag would it be ok to store the unused soil in the bag in a rubbermaid tub that is then closed for like 6-8 months? Does it need fresh air? Would it possibly get mold or anything like that if you leave it in the closed tub for that long on there?

The nutrients will remain. At worst, some microbes in the soil will die. But then I don't recall BioBizz Light claiming to have any particular microbial action or being inoculated with any microbes.

Natural soil sit can sit around or be buried for centuries and still work to grow plants when dug up or planted in.

When you use the stored soil, you might think about adding some myco innoculant of some sort, and maybe watering with some Yucca powder in the mix to make sure the entire pot gets wetted. If the stuff dries out too much during storage, it may get a bit hydrophobic, but a Yucca solution will help re-wet.

And if the stored soil for some reason has insects you don't want or you want insect-sterile soil to start, I presume you could also add some Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew or other Spinosad-based natural insecticide, or a perhaps less natural pyrethin; etc.

Thanks. The 1 main reason I did not really want to grow in soil is I definitely do not want bugs. I have read that coco may have bugs as well but it looks like it is less likely. I mean bugs in the bag from the coco or soil that you buy. I do not take the plants outside and I keep the tent very clean. It is likely that the only way I would really get bugs in the tent would be from the bag that was in it when I buy it. I have read good reviews on the biobizz light mix. I plan to grow with dry amendments and beneficial microbes. Would you recommend I treat the light mix before I grow in it? I want to get rid of any bugs or eggs that may be in the bag for it on there.
