NPK: 133 - 201 - 365 (mg/l) EC 1.2 according to biobizz . I measured more around 1 (0.8-1.1)Thanks. I think that the biobizz light mix does not have nutrients in it. I think it is only soil with perlite on there.
Allmix should have EC 2.4 ...... Too hot for auto seedlings .. but You can always go allmix on the bottom light mix on the top ... But this is for EU .. it could be different in us but that wouldve been just weird with soil. I would get like different size but different soil .. dont know bout it. But I can be wrong ... ;-)Thanks. I thought that the all mix is the one with fertilizer in it. I emailed the biobizz people with that question and they emailed that the light mix is only soil and perlite. I am talking about the US version though maybe different countries have different things in it on there.
Mano's always right ;-) ..Deffinitely agree with Mañ'O'Green here, coco should be fed very early on. Light feed of rootbooster also makes a huge difference in the beginning if the coco is poorly buffered or don't contain any mycorrhizae.
I understand your confusion though, people say alot of different crap on the internet. Have seen several videos and guides made by people who are doing their first grow, lol.. Select your sources carefully, and this forum is a great place to start IMO!
@Ganjaholickz I'm looking to try Biobizz next grow myself, I'm a complete rookie with organics. You say Allmix is too hot for seedlings, would you recommend light mix for seedling/early veg and then advance to Allmix? I'm gonna read up on it, just got a little curious here.. The reason I'm drawn towards Allmix is I imagine least amount of feeding is necessary. Starting to get tired of mixing nutes once/twice a day
Opinions are welcome and appreciated
That makes sense, thanks for explanation. I think I read so many threads initially saying that they needed no nutes for 2 weeks, or 4 keaves etc etc that this was one of several issues I had with the first set of seeds.@Dory The reason it took forever to get to four leaves in coco was the lack of nutrients. IMPO who ever told you that was just wrong. This is an excerpt from Coco for Cannabis a well respected source for information on growing in coco.
"Fertilizers for cannabis seedlings
When seeds first sprout, they use energy that is stored in the seed for their initial growth and development. That energy is quickly depleted, so plants are in a race to grow their leaves to be able to capture their own energy through photosynthesis. Plants do not get their energy from fertilizers, rather they get energy from the light and capture it through photosynthesis. The fertilizers that we provide allow the plant to conduct photosynthesis efficiently, but they are not “food” that plants “eat” for energy.
Until the plant opens its leaves it is not capable of photosynthesis. Therefore, it is best to avoid any fertilizers and keep germinating seeds and sprouts in low EC water. However, once the cotyledons open the plant will begin to fire up its ability to photosynthesize light energy.
Plants can only perform photosynthesis when they have access to micro and macro nutrients. Coco is an inert medium, therefore, the plant only receives nutrients if we provide it with the irrigation water. As I explain in the articles “Growing Cannabis in Coco Coir with High Frequency Fertigation” and “Understanding EC, PPM & TDS for Growing Cannabis”, fertigation always requires a balance. On the one hand, adding nutrients to the water helps the plant grow. On the other hand, adding too much can prevent the plant from absorbing water. During the seedling stage it is particularly important to provide nutrient solution that is the correct strength as measured by Electrical Conductivity (EC).
Cannabis Seedlings Ready for Nutrients Fertilizers
I recommend beginning to fertigate (add fertilizer to the irrigation water) when two conditions are met:
The cotyledons have been open for 24 hours, and
The seedling is in its first container with coco/perlite.
If the cotyledons are already open prior to transplanting into coco, then it is a good practice to presoak the coco in the seedling pot with nutrient solution at the appropriate pH and EC prior to adding the seedlings."
Good luck with the Bio-Bizz and listen to the peeps that make it work for them.
