Hello Everyone

I have never grown any autos before so this will be new territory for me... Anyway, a friend gave me a few seed packets from (2) growers I haven't ever tried before so I thought I would give them a try seeing I have the extra space right now. I will be growing these (2) plants in a 2 x 4 x 8 tent, lighting during the flowering cycle will be provided by a single 400W CMH. During the veg cycle each plant will stay under 4 x 23W 7200K CFL(s). I will be using a 19 - 5 light schedule through the entire grow except for (1) week when I switch them over from CFL to CMH. For that (1) week they will have a light schedule of 11 - 13. I will be doing that because I will be doing a crazy amount of topping @ the start of the CFL to CMH switch. Okay, now on to my information...

Strain...

1 x 00 Seeds Bubble Gum
1 x Dinafem WW XXL

Water...

tap / 8.2 ph, starting mineral level / 72 ppm

water will be ph(ed) to 6.4 ph during veg, and 6.6 ph during flower, water will be ph(ed) after the nutrients are mixed in!

Growing Medium...

50% FFOF
10% canna coco coir
30% rose medal perlite
10% super chunky perlite (3/8 inch)

Nutrients...

just WATER during veg, Technaflora x 8 blend during flower

Germination...

seeds were dropped into a small cup filled with 1/2 cup plain tab water and (1) teaspoon of willow powder. seeds were left in that mixture for 18 hours then placed in solo cups that were filled with plain FFOF. each cup was covered with plastic wrap until each seed popped. plants were lighted by (1) single 7200K 23W CFL. plants were transplanted to 1 1/2 gallon pots once the plant leaf stems reached the edge of the cup. during the transplant they were each given 24oz of 6.4 ph(ed) water

Right Now...

they are on day 15, and are under 92W total each, 7200K CFL(s), (1) four bulb array for each plant. the next time they will be watered is on the 26 of august. the next update will be when I top them for the first time. once they hit (6) nodes, they will be topped. i will post pictures tomorrow morning...

day 16, both plants have hit their (6th) node this morning so sometime today after I manage my other plants the (6th) node on each of the plants will be cut off.

Information...

Grow Room Environment...

temp 73F constant
humidity 60% constant

the grow room for this grow has a complete environment controller that controls the temperature and the humidity, it has (3) inline vents to a humidifier / heater / air condition, and (1) dehumidifier port, so the temperature and the humidity is always constant in the grow room environment.

Looking pretty solid!!! What size pots are you using??

Wow dude,
Serious grow room you have there. I saw another grow with that Ww xxl and the plants were ridiculous huge.
I'll be watching this one to see what you harvest.

Right now they are both in 1.5 gallon pots, they will stay in those pots until day 28, then their pots will upped to 5 gallon felt pots with a 10 inch oxygen ring placed 1 inch from the bottom of the pots to feed the roots a constant 4 psi mixture of 3 parts pure oxygen and 1 part carbon monoxide.

Day 21 Update

Hello All...

I hope everyone is enjoying a super relaxing day. Where do I begin? I guess I will start with the Dinafem WW XXL because she seems like the more interesting plant so far...

Dinafem WW XXL

current nodes: (6) x 2
weight change: since last watering -654 grams, plant water uptake, roughly 33oz
height: 15 1/4 inches
the mad scientist...
1. topped the plants top on day 16, removed node 6
2. removed fan leafs from nodes 1, 2, 3, on day 16
3. chopped the first inner node on nodes 4, 5, on day 18
4. chopped the first inner node on node 3, on day 19
5. fed plant 1 cup of willow water, mixed 1tbs of willow powder to 1 gallon of water then fed plant 1 cup of that.

Observations Made...

The first thing I have noticed in this plant is that she wants to literally reach for the sky. Right now this plant is under 4 23w 7200K cfl(s) and I keep that light array 1 inch from the top of the plant, but that doesn't seem to be enough for her as she grows right into the light every 10 hours or so. Another interesting thing I have noticed is that lower nodes will move either right or left to escape the shadows cast by the fan leafs that are above them. In other words she is a very smart plant, she actually knows what she needs to do to get light to her lower nodes. Also all of the toppings and choppings I have done are resulting in 2 way splits.

Other Notes...

One thing I would recommend, if you ever do decide to top this plant, don't wait as long as I did. I say that because the node spacing on this plant is crazy wide, so the next time I grow one of these I would top the main stem at the 3rd node instead of 6th node. Now if you are wondering why I said that... its because I am looking to turn this plant into a bush, not a tree!

00 Seeds Bubble Gum...

current nodes: (6) x 5
weight change: since last watering -442 grams, plant water uptake, roughly 24oz
height: 7 1/2 inches
the mad scientist...
1. topped the plants top on day 16, removed node 6
2. removed fan leafs from nodes 1, 2, 3, on day 16
3. chopped the first inner node on nodes 4, 5, on day 19
4. chopped the first inner node on node 3, on day 20
5. fed plant 1 cup of willow water, mixed 1tbs of willow powder to 1 gallon of water then fed plant 1 cup of that.

Observations Made...

This plant does not like the pot that she is in, there isn't enough air reaching the bottom of the pot, so she is displaying a slight downward leaf curl on some of her fan leafs. I am not at all worried about that because once I up her to a 5 gallon pot that will go away. What I do find interesting about that is the fact that all my photo Bubble Gums(s) do that same thing when they are vegged in these cheap plastic pots. So that tells me that I should just top feed this plant, give it only enough water so that I only saturate the first 3 inches of the pots soil while she is in the current pot that she is in. Also all of the toppings and choppings I have done are resulting in 2 way splits except the very top node of the plant. At first I had thought that that node has split into 2 nodes, but this morning I noticed she has 3 more nodes that are also popping out. Now I didn't FEM her, I topped her, so I find that she is splitting 5 way pretty interesting.

Other Notes...

None!

Last Note...

The willow water is used to prepare the roots for next weeks root cut away / transplant!

That's it... I hope everyone has a wonderful week, next update will be on Sept 2nd...

Have Fun!!!
