So this will be my first grow and I am excited to share my hopeful results with everyone here on AFN. This place has been awesome with all the help and knowledge that I have already got and I hope to continue to learn on this journey. I just want to also note that I am trying to keep this as simple as possible to learn the ropes so let's get down to the details as best as I can.

Strain: Dinafem Moby Dick XXL - 3 plants
Medium: 70/30 coco coir and perlite mix pre buffered. Sorry forgot the brand I bought at local hydro store.
Tent: 3x3x5
Light: 600w Vivosun LED
Nutes: General Hydroponics -Flora-Micro,Flora-Bloom, Cal Mag

I am using a humidifier and keeping the temps at a steady 82 degrees and about 60% RH. I was pushing the RH higher but it was slowing the carbon filter exhaust. They are now on day 28 and I have started some light defoliation and have started low stress training. It looks like they are going into pre-flower but I'm not sure. I will include some pics starting from day 9 and hopefully keep this updated weekly.

Was having a little trouble uploading images so I put them on imgur.

:drool:Hey! Nice start mate :toke: Your ladies are really taking off — gonna make some beautiful buds. Looking in my crystal ball, I see a 4x4 in your future ... or 5x5  Go ahead and let that RH settle in the 50s.

So I thought I would check on this grow with a little love.

Love the experimentation and the advice. I will admit I wussed out on the Fim/topping but have done a bit of defoliating. I was going to LST but they are growing so even I haven't done much but support one that was growing so much her stem couldn't hold her up.

Tell me what you guys think.

And @dinafemMark if you could recommend me with a similar growing strain to the Moby Dick XXL cuz I'm looking to get something that is another hearty strain like these girls! :) I have some Critical autos that I believe are the origins of the strain but I want to get another dinafem strain I think after this.

I can recommend a strain, here’s a peek at my White Widow XXL germed on 2/5 — OMG the aroma coming from her.

If you like our Moby dick xxl grow style then I would definitely recommend our Amnesia xxl auto or Blue Amnesia xxl auto, also Auto Blue Kush could be a contender :pass:

Maybe we could sponsor your next grow on AFN ?

I'm only a pm away mate :pass:

All the best :bong:

Mark.

:vibe:Wow Dirk!!!! :vibe:Hey, follow along with the Dinafem GOTY battles, we’ve got one finishing up and one starting in the next couple weeks. And if you’re brave ... mark your calendar because the Third leg GOTY battles start 9/1 ... lots of fun with great growers and top shelf genetics

Hey, thank you so much!! :bighug: That Widow is sick!! I bet she is super pungent!:greenthumb: I am already dreaming of a bigger tent and light. I hope after 2-3 grows I should have the extra funds to step it up a bit. And I am definitely going to check out the grow battles for sure. Everybody here is super friendly and helpful.

I am getting more and more comfortable with growing as I go now. I was super nervous about training them in the beginning but now I realize it as not as difficult as I was thinking. And I will be adding a few pics from this week here in a couple days as well.

So quick update for my grow. This week was a bit stressful. Had a calcium deficiency on all of my plants. I got screwed on amazon and bought re-bottled cal-mag and decided to use it anyway. Well you learn from your mistakes. Bought some new Cal-Mag and all three got a good flush. Now all the run-off is back on track, and seems to have stopped all signs of the deficiency. Continued the LST this week as these girls continue to stretch and I am running out of room for the light but should be ok. Going to increase nutes to 4-4-8 for the rest of flower and hope for the best.

So I'm a little freaked out right now. I am thinking my plant that hadn't started budding yet may be a hermie. Let me know what you guys think. And if it is should I just pull it out now or should I wait a bit to be more sure? This plant showed the most signs of the calcium def. so maybe it could be stress. There were only a few and they were on the main stem. Otherwise it looks female. I hope I am just freaking for no reason.

Good week, had a ton of new growth. Plants are going into full on flower now, except one is looking like she is was stressed into hermaphodite so I am watching pretty close. I actually went over her today with a fine tooth comb and removed any growth that looked male and now I am going to pray that I don't see anymore. I really don't want to pull it because there is only a month left and it is so healthy otherwise. If anyone can give me any advice I would appreciate it. I am leaning towards just watching her like a hawk and if it does get real bananas, hopefully by then it will at least have produced some resin for the hash pile. :baked: I also got my jeweler's loupe and was able to take some pics with my phone. Hopefully soon there will be some trichomes in the pics! Anyway thanks for checking out my grow :meds:

Hey mate is that hermie flowering? Keep her at your own risk, might be too late, let me call in a pro. Sorry I wish I’d seen it earlier.

Hey @archie gemmill what do you think of Dirk’s shemale?

Definitely cull at least the male branches if not the whole plant. Sucks, but it's better to lose a chunk of your harvest than the whole thing...unless you want a crap load of seeds (hell, you'd be set for a long time). Or finish her outside if that's possible, but still remove any branches with pollen sacks. I feel your pain.

It is definitely flowering now. It is actually pulling ahead of one of the other ones who is still kind of pre-flower stretching. But l probably pulled little sacks off 10-15 nodes today :crying: They were all towards the lower nodes and some might have just been leaf sprouts but I pulled them anyway. Nothing really in the buds and they would break/fall off very easily and were super tiny. I hope it's not too late, I looked at the other ones and they don't show any similar signs so. Thanks for the input!!
