Hi
I haven't slept more than 6hrs in the past 48hrs. I am BEYONG EXHAUSTED! Disaster struck Yoda! :( :( :( after a very very busy nite sat st work I had a hard time settling to sleep, Sunday was a VERY VERY busy day, after trying to finally wind down from the past two day activities at about 3:30am....
All was allright in Yoda's world. I was calling it wraps when I hear GUSHING WATER! I have a finished basement that is sheet rocked (the ceiling, I know first time home buyer didn't think hey wait this house doesn't have drop tiles in case of a plumbing emergency.) well that emergency occurred! I shut the water to the house off ASAP but the damage was allready done :( water coming out of the light futures and the sheet rock wet! I was in such a panic that as soon as the gro shop opened up I went and brought some more odor eliminating agents as I knew I would have to have people out to the house. After a frantic early morning and afternoon of cleaning evidence of a grow away and getting the odor squared away... The insurance sent out a guy from a dry up crew to check out the damage...the time had come and the door bell tang, I felt my heart beating a bit but causally opened the door and had the guy come in..... So far so good... We walk into the basement and he assess the damage, took some pictures and left. He told me my next step was to get a plumber out. I'm like whew one down one more to go and I'm golden....
After tearing half my basement ceiling down and making a HUGE MESS EVERYWHERE! The plumber still couldn't find the leak? WTF! When the water was turned back on the meter showed nothing leaking... The plumber was mystified. His suggestion? Get it cleaned up leave the ceiling open and wait and see if the leak occurs again:'....
At this point I felt like I was in a rock in and a hard place. I know more people will becoming to check the problem.
One of the first important and I Think most one of the most important parts of growing are security. I felt like mine was in the process of being breeched..... After the plumber left in in a hurry chopped down any plants that looked like they had some harvestable bud on (thankfully a few were almost done, the blood dragon, the black jack, and a couple photos i know) them were chopped; the rest all got the axe! IT LITERALLY KILLED me to do it! I felt like I had no choice as I was knowingly going to have people throughout my house....and I'd rather sacrifice a grow than the havoc I would knowingly being putting myself into HIGH risk from visit from Leo or getting robbed by someone that came to work in the house....I have the one single t5 hydrofarm happy stater 2' in a closet with a couple of important plants (seraphim ;) ) under them...,figure I can kill that small grown down the drain if I were to get a knock... I also was able to move my 1.6 x 1.6' tent somewhere else, as I refuse to be so close to having my LR girl bloom and the male is popping sacs to kill them..:.
I hope I wasn't to Hasty, would you guys have done the same thing? This just has rocked my world to its core :( I will not feel safe setting up shop till everything is fixed and I know I won't knowingly coming to the house.... Besides wanting to get whatever happened fixed I also hope it leaks again REAL SOON so I can shut this behind me... And start back up!
I also couldn't throw out my 16oz cups  I will not quit before it even has started.
Peace and love all
A very spent, overwhelmed? Exhausted

A very sad day :( I hope I have enough to make it through this shit and get going!

I'm sorry for your loss, yoda, but you did the right thing.

Where I live, I stand to have all my assets (house, cash) confiscated and face a long jail term if caught. I would have done what you did in a heartbeat.

You'll be growing again before you know it. Chin up, bro, and best of luck locating that pesky leak. :smokebuds:

In my opinion it wasn't the right choice, it was the only choice!

Security is paramount and any compromise on security risks losing you the ability to grow in the future. Sometimes we have to take a step back in order to move forward.

I recently had damp penetrating an exterior wall and the builders were sent in by the landlord. I shut down all Growing in my house for this period. Like you I moved a tent to a friends house so I would have some plants to move back in and re-start my perpetual grow with the minimum of disruption. The rest were harvested or killed.

The peace of mind it gave me was worth much more than the few plants I lost, and now the builders have gone and I am getting back to normal I can say that I made the right decision and so did you Yoda

"Discretion is the better part of valour"

I hope they fix your plumbing quickly and you can settle back into a normal growing schedule soon

p.s. I am glad you still have the blitz going and I hope they perform well for you but if you have a doubt then kill them too. We can replace plants but we cant replace Yoda!

Man that sucks but better an early chop than getting robbed or LEO's visiting .... I had to chop some girls early and disassemble room when AC went out earlier this year. I feel your pain.
You'll be back and rocking before long tho, sending good vibes and karma your way Yoda .
