Just switched from Jacks (ran out) to MC this run. Hoping to come out the other end with less time spent mixing. Already the PH is better.
Which version of MC are you usung?Just switched from Jacks (ran out) to MC this run. Hoping to come out the other end with less time spent mixing. Already the PH is better.
Single Mix. Mine has the ball chunks sooo must be the old formula?? even though I bought it direct.Which version of MC are you usung?
I believe in this thread, or some other, some one said they stopped crunching up the "ball chunks". So I would say you have the MC version 3. That is all they are selling here in the states. This is what I read here someplaceSingle Mix. Mine has the ball chunks sooo must be the old formula?? even though I bought it direct.

Got the 20lbs bag from amazon about 2 years ago.
Works very well when combined with Epsom salt @70ppm.
To break up the balls, I got a coffee grinder on Amazon > Amazon product
I grind up 1/2 cup every month or so, it works great and tends to make the MC more uniform.
What I look for during seedling and later is :Are you adding the epsom salts and not using cal/mag?
I used ro water when I grew hydro. 0ppm and I'd add 150ppm .500 scale of gh calimagic before my base nutrients. I never had any issues at 150ppm. Obviously I'd do half that when they were babies but at week 3 to 4 I'd be at a full 150 ppm of calmag b4 base nutes. What I look for during seedling and later is :
Purple stems ( even in the slightest).
Another sign of Mg def'c is the twisting leaves.
What I've found in using MC is it IS very well balanced in terms of nutes "tuned" for cannabis.
The version I use, is a little low on Mg.
Not a big issue when you know what to look for.
I need to be clear about this calmag paranoia many have concerning cal/mag def'c.
If you over do it with calmag (any brand).
You will CREATE a deficiency in your nutes.
So , my advice,...don't go over 80ppm with calmag unless your plants are showing rust spots or purple stems.
And, many have mentioned this before, keep your ph around 6.0...don't aim for lower unless you have a soil ph meter.
