Dialing In MEGA CROP for Auto's

Just switched from Jacks (ran out) to MC this run. Hoping to come out the other end with less time spent mixing. Already the PH is better.

Which version of MC are you usung?

Single Mix. Mine has the ball chunks sooo must be the old formula?? even though I bought it direct.
I believe in this thread, or some other, some one said they stopped crunching up the "ball chunks". So I would say you have the MC version 3. That is all they are selling here in the states. This is what I read here someplace

Thats what I'm using as well.
Got the 20lbs bag from amazon about 2 years ago.
Works very well when combined with Epsom salt @70ppm.
To break up the balls, I got a coffee grinder on Amazon > Amazon product

I grind up 1/2 cup every month or so, it works great and tends to make the MC more uniform.

Are you adding the epsom salts and not using cal/mag?

What I look for during seedling and later is :
Purple stems ( even in the slightest).
Another sign of Mg def'c is the twisting leaves.

What I've found in using MC is it IS very well balanced in terms of nutes "tuned" for cannabis.
The version I use, is a little low on Mg.
Not a big issue when you know what to look for.
I need to be clear about this calmag paranoia many have concerning cal/mag def'c.
If you over do it with calmag (any brand).
You will CREATE a deficiency in your nutes.
So , my advice,...don't go over 80ppm with calmag unless your plants are showing rust spots or purple stems.
And, many have mentioned this before, keep your ph around 6.0...don't aim for lower unless you have a soil ph meter.

I used ro water when I grew hydro. 0ppm and I'd add 150ppm .500 scale of gh calimagic before my base nutrients. I never had any issues at 150ppm. Obviously I'd do half that when they were babies but at week 3 to 4 I'd be at a full 150 ppm of calmag b4 base nutes.

With MC V1 I used 40 ppms added calmag and that was all that was needed. And Goerge is right, it's the Calcium that cause problems when you use too much, it's one of the major causes of nutrient lockout,

The title of this thread is Dialing in MC for autos.
So, I'd like to propose my anecdotal approach to using MC.
Seedlings > zero MC , 40 to 80ppm epsom, ph 6.1 (coco or peat).
Seedlings 2 weeks to 4 weeks> 100ppm MC + 50ppm epsom
Veg ( 4 weeks to harvest) > 400 to 600ppm MC, ph 5.9 to 6.2 (add calmag if leaf issues).

This is not Gods truth!, but works well for me using city water (plus a little vitamin c to neutralize the chlorine)..
I'm sure some will argue different ppm's.
And thats fine, adapt to each plants needs is the proper answer I guess.

I have been experimenting with addition of bud explosion in flower using MC.
The jury is still out if its really needed when you're feeding MC in the 500 to 600ppm range..
I do need to mention my BE dosing was 100-150ppm above the 500ppmMC feed.

I'm not a fan of professing high ppm'$ (note the $)....then flushing.
(I make salves &rubs).
Toke & taste,....what taste???
Lmao  :crying:
