Dialing In MEGA CROP for Auto's

but if you top feeding organic material and bottom feeding mega crop won't it be hard to control

Dunno. Never used an earth box. Just seemed odd not mixing in water first.

Can you sprinkle Mega Crop on top in an Earthbox or would you add it to the water reservoir
To keep the EarthBox running two root systems, one mainly for water and one mainly for nutes, you don't want any nutes out of the rez. This two root system allows nute uptake that is not driven by VPD. The plant can uptake the nutes it needs as it needs it.

I really don't know if MC would work well in an EarthBox. Never thought about using MC in an EB, just off the top of my head, I would probably only use MC as a supplement. Maybe to quickly correct the onset of some deficiency. EarthBoxes are really for growing organically. If I were to try using MC in an EB, I would mix it up like pop recommends and only use it the morning after you notice the rez go dry. I have a short dry period in my EBs. This helps keep the rez in a nice condition. EBs can flip quickly when your rez develops problems with being filled all the time. This is how I use liquid KNF amendments. Spraying is a must to keep the water from washing thru. I mix my KNF nuts at a stronger rate. That's to get amount of nutes, but with less water to keep the nutes out of the rez. I hit the Asian Haze really hard with the higher concentrate KNF nutes and she loved it. I would have burned up the girl in a conventional pot.

Some of my thoughts on EBs

You can't top dress with Megacrop or any other mineral based nutrient, its too concentrated and PH would plummet, and would burn the hell out of the roots! Yes you can top feed with MC you'd just use a little lower ppm. It works to carry an organic grow that's running low on nutrients over the finish line without starving. I've done it several times.

And the plants don't care where it's food comes from because it's all the same by the time it gets to the roots.

Has anybody tried to top feed horse feed alfalfa pellets (triacontanol) in a SIP? They are very cheap and contain 100% slightly heated alfalfa unlike the rabbit feed ones that contain salt?

It's been MANY years since I was at a feed mill for the boiler inspection. I can't remember how hot the pellets get, but I don't think it gets too hot from the steam. No binders are added with the heat and pressure forming the pellets. I don't recall any products with meds added, but I'd check.
A bag of pellets would last for YEARS! LOL! I think it could work for ya, but I'd bust then up with them being so big.

MC Bud. As frosty on the bottom as on the top!

Day 50

Some thoughts, I'm now at 6.7g/gallon of MC with just the hint of yellow tips here and there. PPM is 1200.

But, the last week or so the plants are drooping three or four hours before lights out. Drooping to the point of worry.

And the top new growth of leaves are twisted/corkscrewed.

Temps are ~ 25.5c daytime, down to ~18c at night, rh is ~40%.

On my second last watering I gave straight well water and the girls did seem to perk up but still drooped close to nights out.

My plan is to lower the feed and move to a feed/water/feed schedule. I've raised the lights and turned them down to 75%.

For perspective, the back two Gelato's are 36" high. One natural, one topped.

The Purple Silverback in the middle is 30", she is 20" from the light.

The King Gelato on the front left has been topped and LST'ed, she's 24" high.

And the Gorilla Glue #4 front right has been left alone and is 36" high.

I have removed anything on the bottoms that won't amount to anything, other wise I've left the fan leaves alone.

On close inspection, I see two leaves on the PS with a few yellow/brown spots. Everything else looks good aside from the odd canoeing and the top twisted leaves that have mostly straightened out.
