Mephisto Genetics Day 39. Are my Tyrone's too small?

Hello sir, is the colour of the leaves so dark as we can see in the photos? I have heard that nitrogen toxicity might do that. Generally i am waiting to see how the leaves look, if they are pale i give nitrogen if they are dark i back off! Good luck with them and :welcome:
Hey,
I was thinking maybe nitrogen toxicity as well, but I think they are kind of dark but not as dark as they look in the photos. The calmag I used was 2-0-0 so I thought maybe that with what's in the soil maybe too much Nitrogen. The liquid seaweed which is only other thing I gave them is only 0-0-1 though so I thought it wasn't to much N. Maybe the soil is to "hot" to start and mycoriza in the soil made them eat too much N though?
These seeds were from seedsherenow. Next time I try direct from Mephisto instead.

Also if you look on amazon the King 300 watt leds for around $80-90 are the ones im using. I hung both of them 2 plants under each and set them 20/4 from seed till now. I hung them at about 23 inches away when they were seedlings and havent moved them.

I think this is part of your problem. 23" is too far away. I use very similar LED's but I have found my optimal growth heights are as follows:

Seed/seedling - 16"-18" above
2 weeks in - 14" - 16" above
Rest of the growth - 12" - 14" above

These type of lights drop off in PAR significantly if raised too high.

Enjoy. :pass:

Thanks. I went and moved them down to 12" away. Hopefully they still have time to grow a bit. I'll go by this from now on. I was worried 23" was too far but they didnt seem to stretch any so I left it. I hope that's what it is.

When I first started them I noticed what looked like really tiny white bugs that would come out the soil when I disturbed it and run really fast. I haven't seen them since though. I tried looking it up and they didn't look like any of the bad ones but I found a thread somewhere where a person said they found out that some soil companies add beneficial bugs to their soil and it seemed to match those descriptions.

You could have springtails, but I would fair to bet your root system is junk from either Root Aphids, gnats, mites or thrips when the plants were young. Look for flying bugs or anything rooting around in your medium. Good luck

They are very green looks like to much nitrogen is the soil feeding her or you I would let up on that nitrogen if in the soil I don't know if flushing good would help bring down soil ppm or not.
I know flushing does bring mine down to a point.
As far as height I run a 600 watt in cool tube around 8-10 inch's away mine stretch as long as I did not stunt them I have a couple and can't tell you why some don't like me lol

Yeah id say get a hps / mh combo and run your leds with that. Those 90$ leds are hard to grow with a half gram per watt would be really good for a cheaper led. Start letting your soil dry out more too that makes a huge difference in growth and healthy roots. Id switch to tap water also just let it sit for 24 hours. If u use ro and you already have issues it will completely fuck you ph swing is a big factor when using ro and using a cheap pen to check ph. They lie!

Yes it's very small. I don't think you did much wrong but do understand it will take a few grows before you figure things out. First off the light you used it pretty poor. It will work ok but not going to get you amazing results. I usually wait till my plant gets that size before adding any nutrients at all. So adding them in this situation could have caused a little bit of the problems. Drop more seeds and try again. You'll get it

I too am in the same predicament. Mine are 31 days old and 6" tall, albeit I did train the main colas to a 90 degree angle and I'm sure that took off at least 4 vertical inches. I am using a roleadro 600 watt, actual 250 watt.
I've gotten such conflicting reports on light distance. Manufacturer stated over 24" in flower. Many people have said 10-18". I tried 12" and they have grown some.
I was originally 26" away at seedling. I eventually made my way to 12" but they just stay short and squatty.
I'm growing organicallyand do believe I have had nitrogen toxicity.
