Hi there
On my second grow & I've been reading around about dark/light temp diffs during flowering & was hoping someone might help.
I have to have a heater in my tent, which I've generally left on, since in winter (when I did my 1st grow), the temps in there could get down to about 8-9 C (46-48F). Temps with the heater range from about 22-26 C lit, 20-24 unlit. Today I tried hooking the heater up to the timer, to switch off with the lights & temps got down to just over 15 C (59—60F). Then back up to 25 C (77F) with lights on.
So my question is whether 15C(59—60F) is too low during flowering?
Thanks

I'm new to growing, so no expert, but i believe the temp drop when the lights go out can cause bud rot because of humidity. Say you are at 50% at 25 C lights on, lights out the temp drops to 15 C your humidity will rise maybe to 65%. causing possible bud rot. I have dehumidifiers on an Inkbird controller so when my lights go out and my humidity rises the controller keeps it around 52%. That's all i got with my limited growing knowledge about that.

Happy grow and Happy harvest :toke:

The recommended is 10-15° swing. You do want to watch your dew point. You do not want 60° and 60% for example. Your daytime temp is ok but I would like to see it at 80°-82°. My tent is easily 60% lights out but my temp is 72-75 I have no issues with rot. Knock on wood.

Hi @Builder0101
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me - much appreciated buddy.
Getting it up to 80-82F lights on wouldn't be such a problem (although I do have problems keeping things absolute steady!)
RH is just either side of 50% with a (crappy) DEhumidifier. Forgot to say tho - when I tried my
experiment , when lights/heater were off RH got up 70% - now even I know that's not good for the flowering stage! That said, this has been the wettest week of the year!
Thanks again & all the best

Hey @Diamond Dog Hair thanks for the advice - as I just said to Builder, when I switched lights & heater off, RH jumped to 70% lol. We live & learn!
But I am going to have to think of something, if I want good temp swings AND acceptable humidity. It's all learning & it's all good!
Have a good one & thanks again
