Me too! Samsquanch OG even stronger. Mitch and those guys are really strong on Auto OG Kush cultivars - they used excellent starting genetics and worked hard to preserve the "Kushiness."
Heck yeah man! I love that OG smell and I just started a Samsquanch OG. Really interesting to see how they are able to get that smelled expressed along side other different great terps with it's crosses. My 3BOG has the watermelon pheno and it's amazing. Definitely some great work!

Hope I can manage to do it someday lol

Day 58:

Decided to pull the Ogerberry super terp today! It had a soild 10% amber and was starting to foxtail. Very beautiful plant, love the structure overall. If I end up liking the smoke I'll save the other beans for a 3 gallon. It has a lovely sweet berry smell that has a rotten smell on the back end. Very unique, can't wait to get it curing. One of the easiest grows I've done to date. Grow dots, water and recharge! Very happy with the plant overall, interested to see the final weight. Based on my 3 gals yeild id be happy with 1-2oz out of a 1 gallon pot. We shall see!

The Moth Man is doing great, it's starting to foxtail a bit but I don't really mind a bunch. I need the light intensity for my new plants so I can't turn it down. Eating leaves by the day! Guessing another week or two on it. FD is probably a little bit behind that. Doesn't appear to be bulking up as much as I'd like but it's extremely frosty. Happy with both of these overall. Thinking the teas are my go-to now, really brought the FD back to life. Only wish I got it a month or two sooner when I first looked into it.

On certain plants, I view fox tails as the plant swelling and stacking; other times, it's after an extended stall period which says I'm waiting too long.

This is a week 11 purple Nuggets Mephisto that I pushed really hard.

Here's a Night Owl Daytona 5000 in week 9 that I wish i hadn't watered today

Here's a Mephisto Alien V Triangle that's in the same Daytona5000 grow
.
Have you noticed the same thing, or do you harvest strictly on tricomes? Do you assay the entire plant and do a best-guess average, or do you select a certain level within the plant and evaluate on that tier?
.
Rocking it, Dank!!

Thanks man! And yeah I've notice a lot of the same as well. Sometimes it's from a stall and then sudden regrowth. Most of the time it's just because towards the end from what I understand they need less light and my light intensity usually stays the same cause I have other plants at different stages. A few possible causes of foxtailing is environmental stress if your tent is out of ranges by a lot. I had a plant do it bad after I supercropped to many nodes too late into flower. Made the buds terrible to harvest. Too many nutrients/nutrient burn can stress the plant out and cause it as well. My main reason though is too much light. It can stress the plant out and cause foxtailing. Usually I see leaf tacoing along with it which is what I have going on here.

As far as deciding on when to harvest I take into account a few things. First thing is plant fade, when it starts fading out or color up I give the plant about 3 weeks till chop. Some sooner, some later. A week after the fade starts I start checking trichs. I usually look all over and I'm looking for an average of 10-20% amber. Some places may have more, others may have less. Just looking for a good average. Once I'm happy with the trichs I chop it. Feel free to play around and chop one earlier and let one go longer to see what you like. Some people harvest tops and let the rest of the plant mature but I'm lazy so I don't lol. Plus I hang dry the whole plant.

I think this hits the nail on the head! I was seeing some degree of foxtails on most of my plants in the last few weeks. Then I saw something (maybe from Bruce Bugbee?) about plants needing lower PPFD later in flowering. I started backing my lights off in the last few weeks and it mostly stopped the foxtails and seemed to improve terpenoid development as well. Double win!

Those plants look wonderful! I just started a grow in 2 gal and 1/2 gal Rain Science bags in coco, so this gives me some idea of what to expect.

Yeah I wish I could lower my light and raise my little ones but it is what it is lol. And thank you! :jointman: I've been considering getting some 2gals instead so I'll be interested to see what your yeild is with those. I really like the 3 gallons but some plants just get too big. And I have the opposite problem with the 1 gallons. I like them a lot but they don't get quite big enough.
