Hello everyone. So i started my first grow 2 weeks ago with auto bubbleiscious. ( https://www.autoflower.org/f44/steadys-first-ever-grow-400watt-hps-auto-purple-kush-33050.html ) I had some purple kush seeds that were held at customs and just received my re order last week so i decided to make a pc grow box to experiment. It is a CoolerMaster AF912 case from frys for 60$ 21" tall 16" wide 9" deep. Lined with a space blanket and foil tape. 80mm intake fan 80mm exhaust fan with controllable speed (knob mounted outside box. See pics) and a 60mm circulation fan. Wired the fans to a toggle switch to turn off for maintenance/ect as well as an AC adapter with settings from 3v-12v. Will be adding carbon filters around week 2 from sprout. 4 26 watt (100watt equivalent) CFLS 2 are 2700k 2 are 6500k. Custom made Scrog screen made with cpvc and string wrapped in foil tape for optimum reflection. Im going to add a quick picture guide to build one to start off this grow journal. Beans are germinating now so stay tuned!

Strain: Buddha Seeds Purple Kush Auto
Lighting: 4 26 watt CFLS 2 of 2700k 2 of 6500k
Method: Soil/Scrog
Pot size: .3 gallon Super Roots air Pots
Soil: 60/40 FFOF Perlite
Nutes: General Organics Full line. (First Feed after 2 weeks)
Water: Ph adjusted R/O water with 24/7 oxygenation. (have a calmag supp as well)

How did i Build it? Heres the quick and simple walkthrough...

Materials: PC case. Reflective material. Lights. Power strip. Some wire. Computer fans. Foil tape. Wire nuts. Electrical tape. Spray paint. Cardboard. Tape measure. Scissors. Razor. A mind that contains common sense.

#1 Selecting your case. Choose a case with as much room as you can afford/have room for. I spent 2 hours at FRYs picking on out. lol

#2 Gut it. plenty of guides on google of how to gut a PC

#3 If you have vents or openenigs not in use and dont want light showing through. cut pieces of cardboard to fit and spray paint the outer edge black (or whatever color your PC is)
phone 287.jpg
#4 Line Carboard pieces with your reflective material and cut holes for fans if necassary.

#5 Line everything with reflective material.

#6 use foil tape to hold fans and cardboard pieces in place securely.
phone 288.jpg
#7 wire your fans and secure connection with wire nuts. (wire nuts or electrical tape is a must)

#8 Hide wires and everything with foil tape or reflective material. i even lined the edge of my fans and power strip ( DO NOT USE FOIL TAPE ACROSS THE OUTLETS OF YOUR POWERSTRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

#9 Secure your powerstrip at desired height with tape or else. I used Industrial strength velcro. Install lights inplace and test fans/lights.

Thats pretty much it. More then happy to answer a PM about more details of how i did it. Hope this helps someone in the future!

COMPLETED SETUP WITH SCROG SCREEN! Will update with a bean drop!

That's going to be so cool! Little scrogged bonsais. :)

If only you could make the genetics grow leaves at like fifth scale :)

Sweet! Good luck! I tried once to do a shotglass and it got root bound. Im scared to run small pots now. I stunt my plants and move them to a bigger pot after, allows them root room and not a hell of a lot of time to grow bigger. Dunno if it makes a difference or could be applied to this. Looking forward to seeing how you deal with the stretch in the grow, best of luck! Im....... trying so hard..... not to plant more beans..... enough plants!!!! arrrghhhhhh,,,,,, pc grow ? OK fine! Ill plant more. You convinced me. PC grow coming up from me in the future. :Sharing One:

Thanks for the post! What do you think about shortening
The air pots? They sit 5.4 inches tall I can chop 2 or three inches off to make the shorter but still as wide and then lower the sprog screen. Any thoughts?

I imagine topping these gals as soon as possible would be on the agenda....:)

shortening the airpots will work but it's a fine balance between using as much soil as you can and desired grow space.

This is indeed true but I'm worries about hurting the plants by topping. I might LST in a circle around the pot then scrog Em out. I know cutting leaves and branches will stress the duck outta auto flowers but might try this as well considering this is an experiment. Or just run it normal scrog and plexiglass under the lights and just let them grow possibly supplementing the blocked light using some small t5s around entire pc. We will see how it goes. Both beans have cracked while soaking in water. Purple buds here we come!

Like trapper said he seems to know his shit too. I've had great luck with pot size as a main variable to change plant size. Ive only encountered problems in mid flower in a shotglass. Heres a 30 day lemon I have. I stunted it. In fact all these plants are stunted on purpose. (Second photo) Topping helps in the meanwhile but I don't like how they turn out in flower. Unless your an lst expert. And I like 4 main colas. Anyways. ZE plants. :tiphat:
