I use Pargro brand 'quick drain' rockwool cubes. they were fairly inexpensive. I don't remember how much, but I bought three sticks of seven 2.5x3 inch cubes and I have barely gone through one stick of them. I love them, I germinate right in them by putting them in a bowl of water an inch deep. Then they go straight into a hydro rez with a constant plain water line hitting the cube below the hydrotron. They do grow algea, but it doesn't hurt anything.

I don't understand how one would be recycled though, it gets tossed. No way to get the plant matter out of it without destroying it.

I should have specified lol I use the Grodon rockwool croutons as well as the starter blocks.. Yeah, the blocks are trash but it is possible to get the root matter out of the croutons and flush them thoroughly.. They make a solution that you can soak them in to enhance their cation exchange and pH balancing.. Never used it though..

he does go through periods when he looks dead, but later he will be moved a bit. The BBR in my Room is dropping significantyl

Ok. Gotta clean the house, mow the lawn, register my car, and whatever else is on the list.... I have had an expensive week full of car troubles.



But I now have 5 days off in a row!

Changed up a load of different things in my grow cab this time round.
The cab is now 99% silent which is awesome! Details to come in my journal!
I've changed my nutes to mostly Biotabs with a few additional amendments.
It's gonna be a mostly organic grow.
I'm using some other organics nutes whilst they are in their nursery pots before transplant.
Here's a pic of the nutes.

Switching to Autopots this grow after the system has been sat in a cupboard for 5 years lmao (eventually got a round to setting it up)!

IceLine water tubing black on the inside white on the outside meaning a 10C drop in temp compared to traditional black water tubing.
Growstones (made from recycled glass and Calcium Carbonate , they have a very fine honeycomb texture and have great water and air holding capacity and release silicone so the plants will also have nice strong stems.
I have also used iceline for my air tubing as the stuff I had before was getting kinks in it, which affected the air flow. You can see I also used 90degree hose elbows as the tubing is so thick it wasn't wanting to go round tight bends.
I will be mixing my canna coc pro+ 50/50 with the grow stones GS2 which are the smaller variety, I will be covering my air domes half way up with grow stones and giving the pots a top dressing as well to stop any fungus gnats trying to make their home there.
