We all do, it's an amazing site. And it takes years of work to get a plot of ground like that. I have pretty good soil, and took 5 years to get the weeds under control, and fruit trees are just now starting to produce. I have 6 blueberries and six currants that will actually make me enough fruit to do something with this year I hope.

I grow about 10 tomato plants, 1 spaghetti squash, 1 zucchini, some lettuce, several hot peppers, and herbs. Everything else I get from local farm stands. I would love to have fruit trees.

Plant them now

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago.

I have 2 peaches, 2 figs, 2 apples, 2 plums, 2 cherries, 2 paw paw, and dozens of Jap Maples. I love grafting trees. I'm bringing home a Peaches and Cream Jap. Maple in a week or two. Oh yeah, an old pear that I cut a 1/3 of it off every year, and so far no edible fruit, but this year looks good.

I bet the birds love your cherry tree or any of your fruit trees for that matter .:biggrin:

The grasses here grow right through plastic, landscaping fabrics, etc. There is no stopping bermuda in my climate. And the critters plant walnuts everywhere every year, if I miss one it till its a foot or two it takes 20 minutes to get them out sometimes.... It never stops, so it's a good thing I love the whole package.

This year is my second year of no till, and cover cropping, it works better than constant cultivation so far.

solarization may take out reeds depending on their root depth.

Exactly the same here..:headbang:..putting two meter wide fixed beds in seemed like a good idea..but it meant I couldn't get them out and it is like a Mat underneath the mulch.

We are trying putting narrower rows and rotovating between.
I set up a solarising row a few months ago..:coffee:..so far the bloody weeds are looking at it as a mini green house and sheltering from the unseasonable weather.

I Honestly don't mind the weeds..my chickens Love weed salad..and the rest either get dug back in or into my fert butt..but I Hate bloody reeds..:headbang:

Mossy that ground looks like my backyard . Solid clay . :nono:

It is Weird bear..not like UK soil...:coffee:..we you til it it puffs up like a soft mattress..but as soon as it gets wet the surface sets like iron.

We are classified as wetlands..all the run off from the mountains...very fertile..I have very Healthy weeds...:d5:..and when you plough it it smells of patchouli..sweet and spicy..it is Strange.

Same comes of the surrounding fields when the tractors are on.

@L0wbob2017 ..'L0 bob :d5:..I've put your Welcome to [HASHTAG]#afn[/HASHTAG] badge on..Welcome to our Home..:headbang:
