Get composter and worm farm as I already planned.
Add those things to it. Mix with my dirt? Or compost my yard dirt as well?

worm farm is ideal, WAY TO GO.

It really depends on what soil you start out with. I always get a soil test, and they come with recommendations for adjustments based on nutes, organic matter content, water holding capacity, and cation exchange capacity.
