:smoking: Are you guys talking about the CailiMagic or CaMg+? The former is nitrate based in part, hence the appx. 1-0-0, very mild for N at just 1,.. the latter is their "organic" line, GO, a fermented sugar base and all carbonate sources Ca and Mg,.. This is better for soils from what I've seen, and the extra carbonates will help buffer up the acidic feeds,...
As for FF soils- :yellowcard: especially OF! I have taken an Accurate 8 pH probe to several bags in two different local store, and tested them on the spot after the clowns refused to believe they were so badly undercooked and acidic-- talking low 5's here! Instant TARFU, and what come into the Infirmary still to this day tells me FF doesn't give the slightest shit about it, they're still riding on their old rep' from years ago,... @iWumbo it's normally not a good thing to flush a ready-to-use soil like that, but in this case, it might actually help!... The problem isn't consistent, as some folks seem to get OK bags and swear by them,... but I live 400 miles away, same state as FF homebase, and we get shwagg here, even the Happy Frog tested super sour! :cuss:
I bought a bottle of GO CaMg+ and it's now labeled 1.0.0

Thank you for the info!

Step', the OF often as not is too hot in richness as well for seedlings,.. some get away with it, other get stunted fried plants! the acidity makes matters worse,... I heard some bullshit backpeddling talk about FF making the soils this low because of the tendency of the pH rising over time,... well, yeah, if you use hard water, never pH adjust it, and again that's OVER TIME, not right away, so putting a new plant, transplant of whatever into low 5's soil is going to shit on you, little doubt about that!

I played mtg many moons ago ... these days i play hearthstone
blizzards online CCG.. and we have a new expansion the 6. this month ;)

I should really do that.. need that mephisto badge ;) but i'll wait until it has had a a bit of a cure :pass::bighug:
Hubby said he looked at Hearthstone but likes the complexity of Magic Online better... and he has a large collection of cards too LOL.

hey peeps :pass:
back to work after a month off, fuck im sore all over and i was sat on ma arse all day.
time for tea n rockets.
:pighug:
I feel your pain. Next Monday I go back to work after 7 months off... Different job, same place so I'll need to sharpen my brain before I go!

Hey @912GreenSkell did I see you say the other day that you rear 80% of your meat? What have you got, or what do you normally raise for eating?

there's not a commercial mix I wouldn't do that to! And I don't use pre-amended commercial soils normally, just was my only option at the time! But at $2.50 a 40lb bag for the compost..... I can amend a lot of soil! in fact, I'm buying a truck load for my raised beds lol!

The problem is you should not have to do that

... Step, they did get bought out by Monsanto or something? So I'm not surprized they fucked with the formulas some,... for an "organic" line, no nitrates should be found in the CaMg+, you'd think! What does the label ingrd. say about the sourcing materials?

No good soil around here either but I order biobizz, free shipping and it shows up the next day everytime.

Is it expensive? What's 2 cubic feet usually run?

Absolutely.. those were my very first autos. Nirvana northern lights.. I think I had 5 in a 4x4 with 1000w hps. They finished but not because of me..

Cut OF with coco coir or composted cow manure, 2 parts soil to one part coco or compost. I've used it this winter and have had only one plant not like it.

This is growing in it now:

Sweet plant man..

Also thanks all you guys for the answers

the amount of N in most cal/mag is so little that its is meaningless, if its 2 percent or less. So if you add say, 100 ppms of cal mag, you get 2 ppms of N. 2 ppm added to whatever you already have is like spitting in the ocean......

agreed, I still use the no nitrogen variety anyway. I don't change my nutes like other people seem to anyway. I try to only change the water when flower initiates. The rest of the time I either add back plain water, or add 1/4 strength nutes, to maintain PPM. Doing it this way ensures the original mixture is maintained, and I use far less nutrient. If I were growing in soil, I would have a 50 gallon tank prepared.
