I've never grown an indoor photo and always wondered about total black out being necessary when no such condition exists in nature.

i used to be fanatical about it then people started experimenting with mimicking the lunar light with leds to see if it affected yields. Didnt make any difference from what i can remember.

brb...this VPN server in Canada is shit today

Hi friends
I hope you all got a great week.
@Mossy @Son of Hobbes
Can one of you please contact me via pm.
I started to manage some contacts to setup a open source license for cannabis to protect our lovely plants against big pharma companies.
I found a group of people who feel the same and we have to be active. It's a long way but with a DNA lab as a partner and some other good people it could be something great.

Some of the people where also involved to setup up the gnu public license for software so there is much knowledge around.

ps. @All other feel free to PM me if there are questions ideas or you want to help us with this project.

Have a nice day
cu tobe

Great idea tobe. If ya'll have a gene lab your good. GNU licensing is solid! It would apply nicely. Really smart thinking. I have a suggestion:

If you are going to sequence each strain, you will have an AMAZING database on your hands. I am actively trying to understand the physiological mechanisms in 'Auto' flowering. A database like that would make it possible with FAR less expense on my end. I would explain farther in PM or in a science thread. What your talking about would be a game changer for cannabis research. And a backdoor through the permitting and red tape for research.

Your a rock star pal! let me know if I can help somehow. Or better, let me know what things you would need, and I'll let you know if I can do it.

@Rev. Green Genes
Taught me sumtin. Start at out side. All fans pointing to center. Snip snip. Then come back in 2 days and work from there

Stellar lst bro
That is exactly what I do...I leave all the fans leaves as possible that are on the outside, I even bend some on the lowers to the outside. I stated awhile back that some might think I defol. a little to much....I havent seen a bad side effect and my yields are very good .

I don't consider thinning defoliation. I always start at the bottom, remove any fans facing the stalk first and work my up through the center of the canopy. Theres only two reasons to remove healthy fans. To get more light to the buds, or to get more air flow through the canopy. I leave anything alone that doesn't do one of those two things.
