Loving the new COBs @BigSm0 sent. Tent is now 2 degrees F cooler than the rest of the room. I attribute that to the evaporative humidifier acting as an inefficient swamp cooler.

Much impressed with the VERY low heat dissipation. The efficiency of the chip is so far superior to single diodes, it's only having to dissipate 20 watts as heat (40 watt chip @ 50% efficiency). In contrast, my ViparSpectra 600's (260 watt draw @ 20% efficiency) each had to burn off more than 8 times that. Another benefit to less radiated heat is the humidifier doesn't have to work as hard to maintain.

Given the results people are getting with these things, I would say that overall I rate this an absolute must buy. If you can spring it, get them.

Agreed to that.

Has anyone heard of when the next solo cup challenge will happen. Getting ancy about it always wanted to do this since I seen it.
I don't.. but I would like to get involved. Does sound like fun... and if the end result is I have more canna, well that's just a win/win for me... I'll probably skip this one, though, as I really don't have anywhere to grow it yet. New tent coming in June or July, and that will make it doable for me then or thereafter.

My growspace and the room it is in very difficult when it comes to managing temperature. In addition to the tented ladies, I run a lot of radio, computer, and networking gear in the same room. (Yeah, engineering nerd who has an unsafe fascination with chemistry here. At your service..) The poor efficiency of the larger arrays of individual diodes fine until I had to add a second light. The temps were around 15 degrees higher than ambient room temperature - at 90-95F. Now it's 78F. I can absolutely live with that.

Packing them in a 2'7 x 2'7 space...:toke: No tails yet but beans have swelled and are getting ready to split..
