Removed all the barley mulch ( what a pain in the ass) lol then added 1/2 a tablespoon of cover crop to the soil surface and lightly worked it in with my fingers finishing by replacing the mulch and vacuuming the tent floor..Turned the second clip fan on pointed towards the tent wall for indirect air movement to not beat up the plants but so they do a slight jiggle every so many seconds..Adjusted all 3 cob ratchets up 1 click and zipped the tent..Temps 77 humidity 60%..A solid day 13 here..Watering scheduled in 2 more days..We can get those clover seeds wet.

Cover crop works in symbiosis with the living soil..Companion plants, nitrogen fixers,as well as providing moisture retention.Keeping that first 2-3" of the soil surface moist and safeguarded from the elements like wind from drying it out too quick is key.. Maintaining a healthy and live atmosphere around the rhizosphere so nutrients and organic matter can properly be consumed and excreted to be made more readily available for plant uptake. As the cover crop grows, what doesn't die on it's own can be chopped and laid down to be broken down and return to the soil..A living mulch..This in turn will return more matter back to the soil to be consumed and repeat the process over again..A soil food web. Hopefully I explained that clearly.
