morning stoners i hope were all pie eyed and bushy tailed : )
who around here uses a hydro top up res? just need to know if theres anything about it thats gonna catch me out and how to set it up properly. i think i know what im doing but havent looked into it tbh. should be easy enough right?
realised yesterday my plants most likely gonna go through my full res in a day once bloom hits. never thought this through properly lol.

should be something like 1/2 inch tubing for anything over 20 gallons grow rez. 1/4 inch tubing would do. Need a float valve in the grow rez and it goes str8 to the top up rez. The top up rez should be put higher than the grow rez, for gravity sake. and if you can afford it I recommend getting good brass hardware or at least use teflon tape at screw joints. I also add hose clamps to any barbed fitting connections.

if the top up rez can't be raised over the grow rez, it needs to be pumped. then you would need a electrical switch on the float valve, and those cost more obviously.

I'm off to do some shopping . With the landlady still recovering from surgery I'm the chief cook and bottle washer . a poorly paying job I might add but if I plan on eating I'd better do it . That's perfect my man. You're gonna love it. I think I would need six of them to go full coverage in my room. Can't afford that all at aonce for sure. I might be able to get one or two a year and use them as side lights. But as you say, the electric costs! holy crap my bill just came and let's just say it's scary.. My plants are swimming in HPS light and growing into the roof though. I am rolling the blurples out for the next grow, should be a great comparison.



I am still thinking they have not caught up unless it's the new COB's, but it's hard to say till I do a comparison run in my new climate controlled setup. But one thing I know for sure, the girls I have under HPS are praying like no other plants I have ever grown. I never saw this with the blurples.

hey I know what ya mean about elect bill, Mine also recently come in.. It was about 125$ over normal... I use Led Hps Led, I call it a hybrid... My Girl's Praying to both Hps & Led's...
