Crowding plants?

So what is in the buckets underneath the blocks? Could you get away with just a 6 inch block in a drip tray?
There are four 1.5 and one 2 gallon containers filled with Grodan grow chunks that the 4x4” cubes are sitting on top of.
Just playing around with different rock wool options. Lol

I grow using the sea of green method and always like to maximize the potential of every square inch of my grow areas and the equipment I use. You don’t see to many people growing SOG but when you do and if it’s done right the yeilds tend to be higher than a normal grow. Lots of work but its worth it in the end.
When you say SOG method, it looks like you are doing SOG but with some LST thrown in. is that right?

I pull the main top over with a bent coat hanger around day 14 and keep the top horizontal for about 2 weeks to let the bottom nodes catch up to the main top. During the 2 weeks I will reset the coat hanger stake, leaf tuck, hand train by pulling all the branches away from the middle of the plant and also do minor defoliation if needed. My goal here is to create a full and even canopy with just a little LST.

This is the crop I put on the flood tray after I harvested the other one last week. I had all the new plants vegging in a 2x4” tent for a few weeks while the plants on the tray were just finishing up. You are more than welcome to follow along on this grow to see how everything develops.

This is last week when they were first set on the tray.
