Crowding plants?

How much light would you need in one of these 5 sq ft MOL tents to max out the space/yield? I have a Niemi HLG 135 Rspec clone. Same driver and board as the HLG so MAYBE as much as 150W actual draw from the wall even though the driver is a 120.
A 150 watt light is all you need for that area. All the crops I just posted were grown under 150 watt Maxisuns and averaged 2.5-3 grams per watt. 30-35 watts per sqft is a good way to figure out how much light you should be using.

Next silly question. Why do you use the smaller cubes and the slabs instead of say the bigger cubes? Is that for stability or for some other reason? Alos, are you getting 2.5-3 g per watt with auto's or is that with photo's?

I grow in 2-3 ltr air pots just so I can run multiples in a 3x4 closet that was prepared for perpetuity. In runs of 3's, I'd supply healthy 3 week old plants to a room of the previous 3 etc, always rotating so you're harvesting 3 every 3 weeks. Running approx 55 w sqft, my bonzai style plants produce 1.5-2oz each of my fav medicine. Most are autos but I'm always running a photo or two alongside just for shits and grins. So I'd say if you got the horses, take it to the track!

I save a little money by stacking the 4x4” cube on top of the self wrapped 6x6” slabs. I cut the 6x6” out of a larger 3x12x36” slabs then use cheap 2 mil black gift bags and a hot glue gun to close them up. I have other threads with many different size cubes/slabs that I’ve been experimenting and playing around with. One of the first pics I posted with the 24x24” tent has 10 plants growing on stacked 4x4 cubes. lol

2.5-3g per watt with autos? Dang!!!!! Do I have to have a pump to use the wool cubes or can I just had water? Not that I need that kind of yield. I can't even consume the .7-1w per G I currently get from one plant at a time. LOL
Thanks man! It’s all about the pruning.
No pump or reservoir needed to grow with rock wool. Just watering by hand 1 or 2 times a day is fine. I’ve grown some really nice plants that don’t end up fitting on my flood trays this way. Little bit more work watering by hand but you will end up with more head room by not using a ebb&flow tray with a reservoir underneath.

Here is a current grow I have going that is all being hand watered with many different rock wool options (5x5” tent)

Here is a grow I just harvested last week that is on a ebb&flow tray (5x5” tent) As you can see I lose about 20” in height but much easier to water everything. It’s all drying right now but it’s looking like about 4 pounds after it’s all cured.

So about 2.5 oz per sq foot on that big grow with autos? That is like 1.5 -2 times as much as some of the claims by the breeders. You typically don't see them claim any more than 2 per sq foot even with their huge yielders and its typically more like 1.25-1.6.

So what is in the buckets underneath the blocks? Could you get away with just a 6 inch block in a drip tray?

I grow using the sea of green method and always like to maximize the potential of every square inch of my grow areas and the equipment I use. You don’t see to many people growing SOG but when you do and if it’s done right the yeilds tend to be higher than a normal grow. Lots of work but its worth it in the end.
