So I had a few questions... I get the basic concept of breeding. One male (or reversed female) and one female. Male pollinates the female and you get seeds. However, I am unsure of a few different things and was hoping I might get a few knowledge bombs dropped on me.
So, here is a specific example. I am going to use Mephisto seeds for this example just because I have these seeds. Forum Stomper x Strawberry Nuggets. This is the combination that Mephisto uses for their Illuminauto #36 - Jammy Dodgers. I am assuming (and you know what happens when you do that) that they have males of their plants and they can breed without reversing... So, question time.
Q: If I wanted to recreate this strain to get as close to the original as possible, does it matter which one is reversed?
Q: Would these be considered normal seeds if one was reversed? ie: Jammy Dodgers F1 or would it be different since one was reversed?
Q: These seeds would all be Auto Fems, right?
Q: Is it possible to breed two auto fems and get a reg auto, so that I could have a male plant to work with?
Q: Could I then take all of the created Jammy Dodgers seeds and breed them together to get to F2, F3, and so on, or would it cause genetic problems since it came from a reversed plant and I would have to reverse another to breed them?
I am mainly just wanting to make sure that I am going to breed something worth breeding and not keep increasing my risk of genetic problems continuously reversing and breeding. I am not trying to sell seeds. I am just trying to make a large, fun, and unique home catalog that I will enjoy and keep me from having to spend more and more on seeds. Do my questions make sense or am I really confused about breeding and completely off track?
