So I had a few questions... I get the basic concept of breeding. One male (or reversed female) and one female. Male pollinates the female and you get seeds. However, I am unsure of a few different things and was hoping I might get a few knowledge bombs dropped on me.

So, here is a specific example. I am going to use Mephisto seeds for this example just because I have these seeds. Forum Stomper x Strawberry Nuggets. This is the combination that Mephisto uses for their Illuminauto #36 - Jammy Dodgers. I am assuming (and you know what happens when you do that) that they have males of their plants and they can breed without reversing... So, question time.

Q: If I wanted to recreate this strain to get as close to the original as possible, does it matter which one is reversed?
Q: Would these be considered normal seeds if one was reversed? ie: Jammy Dodgers F1 or would it be different since one was reversed?
Q: These seeds would all be Auto Fems, right?
Q: Is it possible to breed two auto fems and get a reg auto, so that I could have a male plant to work with?
Q: Could I then take all of the created Jammy Dodgers seeds and breed them together to get to F2, F3, and so on, or would it cause genetic problems since it came from a reversed plant and I would have to reverse another to breed them?

I am mainly just wanting to make sure that I am going to breed something worth breeding and not keep increasing my risk of genetic problems continuously reversing and breeding. I am not trying to sell seeds. I am just trying to make a large, fun, and unique home catalog that I will enjoy and keep me from having to spend more and more on seeds. Do my questions make sense or am I really confused about breeding and completely off track?

I do not know if Meph breeds with males... I'm kinda figuring that's a no... but...

I have seen mephisto advertise re-runs that were bred in reverse mother/father and they still refer to it as the same strain.

You will absolutely never get a male in a reversed and pollenated plant. One is female (XX) and one is reversed (still XX) there is no Y chromosome in the mix.

You can interbreed, but as to issues here, a book on cannabis breeding would probably go a long way.

Am currently at F1 with Gold Glue X sour Stomper (femmed) then to a selected male from autoflower portal. These will be cubed back to my GGxSS. Cubing is back crossing 6 times. By the 6th cross I'll be at about 98% GGxSS cross with regular (male female) autoflowering seeds.

Theres a lot to unpack but i think ive got you.
99% of reputable breeders make fem seeds bu reversing a female.
1. In that example strawberry nuggets (reversed)pollen was put on forum stomper.

So you would want to do the same. Reverse your strawberry nuggets. Just do 1 branch. Itll be more than enough pollen for what you want.
2. These would be CLOSE to jammy dodgers, but youre likely not going to pheno hunt for the same pheno from your girls. So theyll be close. That said,
3. Yes theyll all be autofem.
4. Technically it is possible to find a male out of a reversed pollen run. Theyre typically found by planting 1000 seeds in a field. Youll get +/- 10 males in the field. So dont count on it.
5. You seem to have the concept of breeding down. Take 2 (same) f1s and pollenate. F2 babies. This is the fun one. ALL the genetics are open! Its basically super unstable. Lots of pheno variations. But there will be a higher mutant % as well. Choose carefully in this group as it makes the difference between stable-ish f3 or just as unstable f3.
But with jammyd being an f1, and the ridiculous amount of seeds even a single branch can make, you wont have to actually worry about f2s for a few years/lifetimes.

Besides, all that pollen amd youre only gunna make 1 cross?

If you keep it to one pollen, you could make a buncha crosses at one time from it. Strawberry nuggets breeds very well.

The Art of Selection and Breeding Fine Cannabis by DJ short has been my go too, but I try and read anything I can get my hands on.

I forgot to reference!!!! Grow from your heart podcast with rasta jeff. He goes super in depth into breeding and an episode on how to use sts if youd rather use that than colloidal silver.
