Getting ready to get busy and need some suggestions. I usually use bagged coco straight from the bag but not opposed to trying bricks as long as I don't have to spend a bunch to time washing. charging for days after hydrate etc... I am lazy I guess. No shops where I stay. Shipping is a killer on bags. I have used Royal Gold and Mother Earth bags with great success and delivered cost within a few bucks of each other. Just wondering what others use ? Thanks in advance for your feedback. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate this holiday.

I use canna bricks and don't wash just expand them and maybe use a little nutes when I do
Tks..That's actually what I was looking at. Have you experienced any issues with the canna bricks ? I don't mind expanding, most likely with some calmag and light nutes. I read some posts where folks have said the bricks sometimes have high ppm when expanded. Have you run into this at all ?

I've had some seedlings that have came up a little crispy but I'm assuming that's because I pre-charged it myself a little bit too much I get a little stoned forget if I put stuff in the water or not

I've used two types, both cheap brick. One was the brick from Home Hardware in Canada, grow did not go well, but produced a little - limitations were lack of homework on my part. I did not buffer, and it showed big time later in the grow, and I did not add perlite, which I suspect made everything a bit worse.

The second attempt is my current grow, also in cheap brick picked up on a road trip to the US (can't remember the store or brand). The second attempt was well buffered and rinsed, unlike the first attempt, and with ~40% perlite instead of none. The current grow has gone reasonably well, especially considering my screwups, which somehow have not killed the ladies yet.

My take, without experience with higher end stuff is that the cheap brick works just fine if it is properly buffered, rinsed, and combined with perlite. The alternative of a high end pre-mix is too expensive after shipping to where I live in central BC.
