Hey new lurker here.

Trying to get started but still hesitating between either a 60x60x160cm or a 80x80x180 growtent.

I would like to start with just 1 plant and if i like it and the circumstances allow it why not try a round with 4 different strains....

Is 60 enough for 4 plants or should i opt for 80? Height-wise will 160cm not be too low if you count the distance between the pot and the light?

My goal is to have the smallest grow room possible without sacrificing potency/quality of the grow/flower. So if it has to be taller i will take the taller version.

I stumbled upon this video (best cob grow lights reviewed ):

I looked up the 2 best models on aliexpress and actually found some decent stuff so i'm hesitating between these 2:

  1. Citizen CLU058 (160Watt)
  2. Luminus CXM32 (285Watt)

Does anyone has some advice on these? Are they good to grow with? The citizen looks more interesting to me price-wise. The luminus looks quite impressive and maybe overkill for the space of the tent?

For 4 plants you'll be a lot more happy with 80cm.

As far as the light, 250w of cobs or quantum boards would be ok for that space, and 300 would pretty much max it out and maybe even be overkill.

Both of those lights look sketchy to me. Those heat sinks are not big enough for wattage that high unless there is a fan in there I'm missing. Normally cobs run around 50-75watts each, and for higher wattage you run more of them.

Kingbrite and Meijiu make quantum boards on Alibaba that have decent reputation here, I think those might be a better bet on a budget. Otherwise HLG quantum boards are highly reputable if you can afford them.

Good luck whatever you decide!

I agree with Animatey on going with the 80x80, and I would also say that you should consider quantum boards... I'd add BudgetLED to the list with Niemi and SpiderFarmer. Loving my new BudgetLED in my 60x60 just at half the power.

100% go for the 80x80 tent as for lights i would personally go cobs.
