Old Reviews Cidly LEDs

Anyone looked on the new Cidly site? It's comical lol so many mistakes and the new lights look the a step backwards rather than progression. My fave bit is where the say "even kids know how to make them" lol child labor anyone? Lol
I think the new lights look sweet mate,I like the newest models and the have some nice features,I was looking at Cidlys Apollo series way before any of these uk and USA companies were selling them, they have good tech.
Si how bigs your space mate, for 2-4 plants I'd say minimum is the 6 spot led bro

Yeah I would like a dimmer on my lights and the built in timer is cool but the more stuff they can do the more chance something will break, and the King Kong is a bit of a weird name lol. I hope Grownorthern bring a light out called the Godzilla lol

I swear I am not trying to dick-ride gothem hydro or anything lol but, they do have a sort of rule of thumb for each wattage lamp and coverage. assuming your looking at very similiar merch from different vendors, you should be able to use their info to help you make a more educated decision on lamp coverage in general =)

For example: Here is the beginning of the 240w blackstar desc, " ...Each unit covers 6 square feet (3'x2')..."

I have a blackstar 240 and they only cover 2x2. I tend to take a companies claim with a grain of salt.

2 x 2 isnt correct the blackstar 240 is rectangular so it cant be a equal sided covering area,:peace:sj

I'm going from seeing many Blackstar 240 grows on here, 2x2 seems to be the limit of their optimal growing coverage. Also, I own one and have completed a few grows. Sure one might be able to cover 2x3, but I'm of the firm opinion yield will suffer past 2x2.

i bought 2 knew i needed more but if ur correct it would be 2 x 1.5 which will be a major hassle.the lens is 15 inch x 7.5 inch so it cant be 2 x 2

He didn't say it can't work in 3x2 mate,he's saying that the 2x2 is a better area.the light off led spreads but there's a core area which gives you the strongest light, outside of that the light intensity is reduced and yield would suffer.i agree with piggy a 240w blackstar is better in a 2x2 for optimun yields

im agreeing, i was lied to by the company but as i said the bkackstar 240 is rectangular .so the core area it covers is rectangular not square.my maths was wrong. the width of coverage is half the length of coverage.:peace: sj

But The reason they cover 2x2 so much better than 2x3 is the reflection from the tent. at the right height in a 2x2 the core spreads and the walls reflect just right to give even intensity across the canopy. 2x3 or 3x3 is just too much for the 240 unit to cover evenly. I'm taking the shape of the unit into account when I say this. Remember, reflection plays heavy in these lights so don't let the unit shape fool you.
