Old Reviews Cidly LEDs

Hi guys,
Sorry to come in late to this discussion. Although i just bought a 300w (100x 3w epi star chips) led panel off ali express. They already come with their preset spectrums, although they say you can customise it to any spectrum you want. My question is (since led grow lighting is new to me) What spectrum would be the best for the 100 led's?
Cheers, in advance!

A lot of growers here, myself included use the blackstar LEDs and they run a 6 spectrum. 2 reds,1 blue,1 white,1 infra red,1 ultra violet. This works well and the grows back it up..with LEDs being relatively new I'm not sure if this is the optimum spectrum though, some companies offer 12 band spectrums.does this work better?who knows,as it would need side by side grows to test this and find out what's the best..it's a tough question and every company seems to run different ones.Reds seem to make up the baulk of most panels and blue is always needed too

hello streikr, after a shitload of reaserch, alot of it right here on afn and elsewhere as red eye says the blackstars are a proven producer for a lot of growers here and elswhere.. you can read pros and cons right on this site for hours and blackstars seem to have the best bang for the buck!:peace:

Hey, Check this. Hope it give you some clues about the spectrum for plants grow!
To be specific, different plants spec respond different to light. The best way is imitate the light condition they used to! For the cannabis, from many growers' feedback and some info we check on the big distributors' website, 60-75% of red, 10-25% blue and 10-25% green-yellow would make a optinum yield.

nice thread guys, been a very interesting read,

i am also on the look out for a new light this year but deciding which one seems to be an issue for me too. id rather go the homebrew approach and build my own!! the way technology has changed means that if i could easily source all the parts, building it wouldnt be a problem..

so my question is can we buy the parts for these light from anywhere? im mainly talking about the modules and lens's,... LEDs, power supply, fans and the casing are all to easy and cheap to source..

why send it back around the world when you can fix what you built yourself at home(should it ever break)??:peace:

I am pretty sure Cidly would sell you components and let you assemble the light yourself. I personally think thats what most of the "USA built" lights are....

I did think about buying from china but got mine from Grownorthern because u can modify them, the tech is new so always getting better. I spoke to the guy where I got my lights from the other day and there will be new modules available the end of the year which will be unique to Grownorthern and will be using the Philips Lumileds (the best chips available). I know the Drivers in my lights are different to the Apollo too, they are also developed by Grownorthern. Don't judge a light by its cover lol.
