New Grower Chiefs 1st grow - Northern Lights and Ultraviolet

Naw i dont ..i just dig a lil on the sides about 2 inches down then push my finger down a bit to test for moisture.I have a meater but i dont trust it.or is it cuz i like to put my hands in the dirt lol.

What up Chief?! :toke: Both your gals look great! .....color's good, nice stout build,... I think they might grow to be on the shrubby side,...but we'll see when the stretch starts. ...They look a lot like mine do now, with very short intermodal distances.... About the tip burn, I don't think that was caused by a little bit of fert' water on them; they don't burn that easy, especially since you had such a dilute mix,....BTW, do you mean 1/2 ml per gal., or L? Starting at 1/4 strength recommended is fine, whatever that is,... most folks usually go every other watering, or every 3rd when they're young like now, then ramp things up as they build mass,...I started giving mine a similar wee taste with Superthrive and maybe <1 tsp/gal molasses just to tickle the soil microbes some... Right then, carry on! :smoke:

Yeah they are a bit shrubby. I think that's because I had the lights less then 3 inches away from them because I was too focused on making sure that they don't over stretch early on. So right after I took the pics yesterday I went ahead and raised the lights up somewhere around 6-8 inches above the plants and they are loving it. Now they're starting to stretch a lot more (in a good way), I swear ever since I raised the lights up they've gained almost an inch. But I'm definitely keeping a close eye on them to make sure that they don't over stretch. Overall it looks like all of the nodes are spaced out evenly. And the directions for mixing the nutes are per gal. On the label it says to add half of a tsp to 1 tsp, so that's why I decided to only mix an 1/8th of a tsp in a one gal milk jug just to be on the safe side just to see how they reacted to it. Other than the nute burn on some of the tips it did take care of what was starting to look like a nitrogen deficiency. So no more of that to worry about for now at least. But tomorrow I'm going to give them a really good watering with just plain water, and then I'll wait about 5-6 days and then give them the same super light dose again. Hopefully there won't be anymore nute burn.

Looking good..you will start to see it growing more and more ..its about time for the growth explosion Boom! I water mine when soil is dry when i dig in the pot around every 4 or 5 days and i also skip nutes to every other feeding which i got from some other peeps doing the same like goauto...that way you have less of a chance of build up..also i switched form rain water to tap water left to bubble for 24/hrs or more to get out the bad stuff and leave the good stuff...I dont know whats in your nutes but if you have any problem check out sea grow its a all in one nute no mixing works great and allot of the vets use it and its supa cheep..i got one free :P but other i got for 11.50 for 1.5lb jar and its said to last years lol Ya girls are looking good ..you will be blown away by how much they grow in one week when they take off!:peace:

Thanks Doobie. I'm definitely going to look into the Sea Grow, especially since it has such a good price on it.

So you can use the Sea Grow for veg and flower too? And where can I get it? I would also be curious to see what kind of yields people have gotten from using it.

I got one here http://www.plantsthatproduce.com/cgi-bin/search.pl?description=sea+grow&filter=retail ..you need only 2 jars the 16-16-16 and the 4-26-26 first for veg second for flower..you see what its done to mine lol im about to feed bloom and watch it pack on the buds...also you can add Grow More Hawaiian Bud

Shrubby is not a bad thing, G'! It means more tops all around,...besides, no call can be made just yet as to how their final shape is going to turn out; we've a looong way to go still, mate! And some stretch is needed to make sure there's some elbow room for the side branches to grow into and not shade each other out,...It is good that you raised up the lights some, they were getting too intense lighting likely,... I haven't read the labeling on FFHF soil, so I don't know how nutrient rich it is, but it's certainly cooler than OF; that said, I still don't think what you see on the tips is nute' burn. (if you can, get us a nice close-up of the tips for better diagnostics please!)..... I've had to start feeding mine more right now because I overestimated what was in Light Warrior (thanks to Rebel for the head-slap on that! :joint: ), as I saw that their color was a bit pale overall... In the last few days they've sucked up the goods and are building up nicely again... So, maybe give the gals another little taste of nute's next time you water...

Over fed, you need to flush some of the nuts out of the soil. and not feed for a while. FF/hf is good enough until roots fill the buckets.

Hey everyone! I have good news and bad news. This past weekend has been a roller coaster for sure. For starters, on Saturday I noticed that one of my plants was starting to develop some kind of deficiency that's more than likely caused by the pH being too low. And then the next day I got word the one of my friends passed away unexpectedly, so I had to go to the funeral just yesterday. Talk about a bad string of events...it seemed like it was on thing after another. So that's the bad news. Now back to the sick plant...I went ahead and flushed it two days ago with some tap water that I let sit for 24 hours. Overall she's looking a lot better, but she's not out of the woods yet. I've been able to drastically slow down whatever is causing the issue, and hopefully the issue will stop all together when I flush her again either tomorrow or Friday.

And now for the good news...both of my babies have gone into flower! There are little white pistils everywhere! I will post some more pics later on tonight. Just wanted to give a quick update on what's going on.
