New Grower Chiefs 1st grow - Northern Lights and Ultraviolet

Yea Waria is right now that i look at it again..if you like a speedy heavy high pick early..if you want couch lock pick later..if its a strain that hairs turn brown orange witch it i think most are then i read somewhere if the hairs are still white means bud is still growing plus you want them to be hard dense buds not airy ..is the plant still taking the same amount of water?Take test bud see how u like it..me i would leave it another week maybe see how it turns out.:2cents:

Chiefage!! That chick is hot! :booya: I'd say she's very close, even could be taken now... did you read the sticky by Muddy-san on when to harvest (in the new growers section)? Most important!! If not, do now, before you make any moves... There are some general parameters, leaf yellowing is real important,..trich's, ehhh, better read it first; in the end it depends somewhat on the strain, and more on how you like your buzz; UV I think has quite a bit of satv. in it, so it'll be 'heady' in general anyway, I think... She looks excellent quality-wise Chief! Clearly, you did something right, ay? :smoke: Nice work! I bet the aroma is killer :lick:....... Sucky news about the NL, but that one was a troubled girl from the start, if I remember right... wow, reverted to vegg'ing?! :joint: :face: That is a WTF question for an expert to find out why, so you should ask some Sensei here about it to avoid future WFT! How's your new set-up coming along?

I read Muddy's thread a few times actually. If I go by the leaves, then I still might have a couple of weeks to go. And yeah she smells sooooo good right now. But your right about the NL...she was giving me shit from the get go. I think the reason why she was re-vegging was because some of the leaves died early on either due to nute burn or a deficiency issue, and once the leaves fell off they tried to grow new ones. But because it happened to a big portion of the plant, it might have been enough to halt flowering all together and make her focus on vegging again.

And the new setup is working out great. It's by far the best thing that an indoor can do. I can only smell the sweet aroma if I stick my head in the tent. Hell, I can even put my nose up to the tent and I can't smell anything.

UPDATE!!!

So it's been a long couple of weeks, but I'm back! I had some family visit from out of town so I haven't been able to get away to give an update, but now the time has come. :D

I have now successfully completed my first grow...and the sense of accomplishment I feel is amazing. :smokeit: I harvested the UV on day 95. I do not have a scale anymore, but if I had to guess I would say the UV yielded about 1oz. maybe a little more. So I am happy with the results, especially since this was my first grow. I took a sample on the day of harvest and used a quick dry method that my wife thought of...props to her because it worked very well. I'll give a proper smoke report in the near future, but to give you an idea of how the smoke is after taking a sample without a cure; and all I have to say is WOW! It's super potent and really heady (after all it is 90% sativa), but it's a really good uplifting clear headed high...it motivates me to want to go out and do fun activities. Here are a few semi-dried bud shots.

I say if you have the time, let them keep growing until new hairs stop popping up,I have some jock horror plants on day 97. I just chopped the top colas off when they were ready to let the lower buds fill out to their potential. Time = more bud at the end

looks like you already figured that out though

Those buds look alot like that ones that i got off my plant!! They were kinda fluffy, which I read was because of the strain. But i had one that was dense. It was weird. Anyways, looks good man!!!

This is about half of my harvest. I gave the other half to some family members that helped me financially with the grow. Kind of like a collective almost.

:D I see a lot of sparkly goodness Chief! Nice work, mate... and very satisfying! That turned out a pretty nice pile, in the end, ay? You're 'backers' certainly scored! LOL!! What are your thoughts on the smoke, now that you've had a good sampling of it? I figure it'd have somewhat head-favored high, and top shelf strength... and the aromatics? I curious to see if it has some of the Lavenders' unique sweet-floral notes...LOL! Once again, wishing for smell-o-vision! So, what's on your dance-card now? Do you have the tent all dialed in for second run? I'm all over my new gals! I picked up some soil microbe brew, and have been dosing up the soil big time, and starting to ramp up the fert' regime...gradually (LOL!) but aiming to get levels up to all full-strength as I dare! The soil 'crobes will help buffer the nutes, so I hope,... There's a lot to do different this time around for us, huh (LOL!)... Speaking of samples, I think my Red dwarfs will be sample-ready today...:dance2: they've just dried enough to indulge a taste, but I'll still let'm cure for a while before I report anything official... meanwhile, the last of the crew is either drying, or cooking for a day or so more, then DONE! *whew* finally! 3 months bros, for us outdoor-types! Anyway, let me know what-up :pimp:
