So for me this has been a long time coming, but now my first grow is finally underway thanks to everyone that's given me great advice along the way.:booya:

So my grow room (which is actually my walk-in closet) consists of a 36x48in grow area.

I will be growing 1 Northern Lights auto from Vision Seeds and 1 Ultraviolet auto from Samsara Seeds.

For lighting, I'm using 8 23w CFL bulbs with a mixed spectrum of 2700k and 5000k.
acu-rite thermometer and humidity gauge
10in. oscillating fan for circulation
3 gallon smart pots
FF happy frog and FF ocean forest soil mix
Local hydro store brand grow and bloom nutes

Now lets get down to the nitty gritty...

On 3/22 I soaked the seeds in distilled water for 36 hours until they cracked on 3/24.

On 3/24 The seeds went in the soil. For the Northern Lights I tiered a 44oz. cup with the bottom cut out filled with FF happy frog, and the Ultraviolet I didn't tier because since it's my first grow I want to try different methods to find out which one works best for me.

I'm going to count 3/24 as day 1 because that's the day that the seeds cracked and went into the soil.

Day 1

The temps have risen and have stayed around 82-85 degrees with the humidity around 25-30%.

I have been misting the soil every so often to make surer that the soil doesn't dry out too much until the seedling break ground.

Day 2 - absolutely nothing.

Day 3 - Nothing as far as the Ultraviolet goes, but the Northern Lights has begun to show signs of life.

And today is Day 4 and I woke up this morning and had a pleasant surprise. The Northern Lights is up and looking good.

Still nothing from the Ultraviolet though...not sure what the deal is with that one.

And here is a pic of the nutes I will be using. I also want to get feedback on whether or not these nutes are OK to use.

For the most part I think that everything is going according to plan thus far. So feel free to chime in, I always love to get feedback on how you think I'm doing right/wrong so far.

And I will try to keep this log updated and as detailed as possible. Thanks for stopping by, and happy toking! :bong:

Subbed up for this one bud, :pop: Good luck with the run my man. Green Karma your way!

Hey man congrats on the sprouts ill deff be watching this thread man and goodluck on your grow, so far they look like good little seedlings.

Thanks for the kind words. For a while there I thought that the UV was never going to break ground, but I was patient and didn't start poking around the soil looking for the seed and it paid off.

Oh and I also went ahead and swapped out the 4 23w 2700k bulbs for 4 more 23w 6500k ones. So now I 8 bulbs dedicated just for the veg cycle, and when it starts to flower I'll swap them out with 8 23w 2700k bulbs.

You could also do 4 of each, I have heard a mixed spectrum is really good for autos. In mine at the moment i have 3 6500k and 1 2700k going for veg, and when she starts to flower ill put in another 2700k so i have 2 of each.

Hey Chief! Way to dive right in the pool,... ! :smoke: It's good to be off to a solid start, ay?.... (LOL!) I like that you resisted the compulsion to root around for a peek at the UV :cough: :boob: Mind your watering carefully now; at this stage and for the next several days is when they're are most vulnerable... gotta keep that surface soil layer at a nice even moisture level,- no cripsy, no soggy! a hand sprayer works great for this.... Good start, mate! ................ Tonight I found many of the soaking seeds sprouting already, so in the pots they went! Both UV's cracked like clockwork too... :booya: My germ' rates were much better than I thought, and the few that are left look fine so far,... I can only hope I make out as well on my female%....It appear even with fem'ed seeds, males are uncommon, but far from impossible... Fingers crossed for your shorties too, man :D I think I'll wait a bit to start my grow thread, though, until there's some goods to show!

It sure is Waira...I now have a little more confidence in what I'm doing now that they're above ground and looking healthy. I went ahead and gave them a tiny bit of water with the spray bottle this morning. I gave them a little under 1oz worth, but I can't tell if that will be sufficient for them or not. I just know that from what I've read in other threads so far is that it's better to be conservative with watering to ensure that they're not being over watered. I feel that once I learn how much water to give them, and how frequent to give it, then I think that's going to help me git rid of most of my fears as a new grower.

And it's good to hear that your seeds are doing good as well...I'm just grateful that I had 100% germ rate with this being my first grow. And I've read the same thing about the possibility of feminized seeds not being female or going hermie on you, but at the same time I also read that you have to do something to severely stress them out or cause some sort of trauma for that to happen. Not saying that there's not the possibility of it happening naturally, but I'm hoping that the chance of something like that occurring is very low.

And I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your grow as well...since we are both growing the UV around the same time. I'm sending some good grow karma your way! :gthumb:
