So many fungus gnats. I kind of expected to see things like this eventually, but it’s hard not to panic and try to kill them all lol. I’m trying to build an ecosystem, so one by one I expect pests to bloom and then find balance with predators and benificials. I know it’ll take a while for nature to balance things out, so I’ll keep the compost tea flowing and try not to overreact. I did put a fan close to ground level to make it a little trickier for them, I’ve been meaning to do that for awhile anyway. I’ll probably add another couple layers of hay. I’m hoping having the small cover crop in there will help distract them from cherry triangles tasty tasty roots. But this may explain why she’s been dropping leaves at a faster rate. This plant is mainly a means to an end, im trying to build a strong microbiome under the surface, so that plants number 2,3,4,5 all get better and better. She’s not as light green as this pic would suggest

For me the fungus gnats are always a constant battle. I would control them but never eliminate them. The only time that they would bug off is towards the end of flower when my plants would emit their natural smell that we love but the fungus gnats hate. I use sticky traps and for my grows and I use my hands to work up and squeeze the soil in the top. Also the dreaded overwatering helps them. Looks like your plants will start helping you with their dankness from now on. :baked:

Yeah she makes the whole house reek lol I should probably get a filter. I’ve heard topdressing with compost helps too, so that’s my next step probably.

Buds near the back are showing some foxtailing, but I’m not buying another fan this go round, so it is what it is. Hopefully they don’t get screwed up in the next three weeks. Getting close to harvest time! Woohooo! Not gonna count my chickens too early, but I’m excited to cut this plant.
My buddy offered me as many gg clones as I’d like basically. The landscape outside is still frozen tundra, we’ve got like 4-6” of snow on the ground. I’m getting a 1000w mh bulb and reflector to go with my ballast, gonna just set them in the basement I guess until it gets just warm enough to plant outside. Awesome deal, but I’m not prepared for it, and I don’t have anything to feed them in the interim. Too many things at once.
