Cheatp Ph pen vs BlueLab Guardian

i would have bought more and more cheap pens. but i prefer having everythig submerged and all i need to do is glance over to see values... and adjust if needed. its why im on hydro. its also why i have never grown in soil... started with hydro. then moved into a 2 bucket RDWC 1 for plant 1 for res.

i just hate work. and automation is my ideal goal. if i could afford those super expensive bluelab auto feeders and auto ph adjusters with pumps, i would but i aint made of gold bro! :D

My wife literally got me the same exact one with the extras (case, calibration solutions, solution tray etc.) just yesterday. How often do you calibrate it?

Usually just once before the grow but ive been lazy lol. On my 3rd and I've done it twice and probably havent taken the best care of it but still works great.

so another update.. over night everything went really. REALLY bad. The plant had drooped and the PH meter was just showing... "UR" not sure what this means. and not sure why its not working.... but the ph was all the up at 7. i have since corrected the ph with my "CHEAP" ph pen that actually f*ucking works despite it never been calibrated for a year.

will the plant survive?

Aw man , that is a terrible thing. How far off was the ph when you used your pen?

The pH was at 7 this morning but I've adjusted it now
Thats not much to worry about, I bet shes already bounced back. I glanced through your thread and just wanted to say that I have found great success with "Milwaukee MC110 PRO pH Monitor Mid Range" https://milwaukeeinstruments.com/ph-monitor-mid/
Outperformed Bluelab at a more affordable price

update,

instead of paying 55 bucks for a new pH probe.. i found one of those cheap pens in my cupboard that wasnt opened and had ph buffers in it so i calibrated that and used it to adjust my ph properly to 5.8.

on top of that. i bought the Perfect pH By Torus Hyrdo to try out... supposed to keep ph between 5.8 to 6.2 for 3 months...

wish me luck.
