I just up graded my ghetto gro from 2 75 watt fluros to 2 100wt equiv cfls and switched my gurls to 12/12.

Hey guys, if you've got pics please throw them up in this thread. The options are pretty much limitless for how you arrange CFLs in your grow space, and seeing how others do it is always helpful. For those who haven't seen it, this is my homemade 6 bulb fixture and reflector:

I like your fixture Andy, mine are just hanging in an upside down "V" shape, not real efficient but it works

My lights dnt turn on until 6:00pm will try and put pics up later when they turn on.

hope that this isnt a dead thread, im a cfl'er myself and use light vanity strips 4 bulb type and use socket splitters to double the bulbs,
two strips with splitters= 16 bulbs. It seems to give me enough light as I have finnished 7 runs usin them and the end result is fantastic. My grow cab is only 3 ft x 3 ft x 3 1/2 ft tall and use computer fans for the exhaust and a passive intake. Walls linned with some of those windsheild sun reflectors and it works.

I use a single 250W, made by plug and grow.

It has eight, ten-inch tubes and uses 200W input power.

It is rated at 19,000 lumens so 95 lumens per watt.

My cabinet is 4 square feet so that's 4,750 lumens per foot.

I can pull 4 ounces using organic soil/nutes in four 2-litre pots.

I use LST to maximise light use and the plants are within a couple of inches of the light.

That is Genius Nibs...is it built into an old fridge or somthing?

:slap: Well deserved rep+ slap dude

little lighting issue...

So a few weeks ago i noticed that my blue veg CFL was a bit dodgy...like only half of it lit up
at first i thought i was seeing things or the light was playing tricks with me cause its so bright

However it recovered after i left it for a couple of hours and it still works 100%

So last week i went and bought a red bloom CFL @ 250w and the guy in the store checked it
there and then...whilst he was twisting it in i started to tell about my blue veg CFL and he was
as baffeled as i was...then he flicked the switch the red one i was about to buy and it was fine.

so i brought it home very carefully and excitedly plug it in and at first it was working alright but
i just noticed that only half of it is lit up and its definitly not my eyes as i can really notice it this
time as the Red isn't nearly as intense as the Blue ...WTF??

What could cause this ? is this normal ?? has anyone else experianced this dodgy lighting ???

Any help would be great guys thanks...
:peace:Chopper
