Lighting Ceramic Metal Halide

Anyone wanna guess where this is headed? There’s 99 holes inthe screen, and everyone has a bud in it. I’m hoping an OZ from each squarefoot. That’s 9 zips. In two cuts, a top prime cut, and the small stuff twoweeks later. Too optimistic?

Day 23. Brainstorm is up and she’s looking like she’ll be afast one. Buds are stacking up and pistils have doubled on the lower buds. Ifeel the P-K may still be a little high from the Gro-Tek, it’ll get skippednext feeding until the yellowing fades and I’m seeing green again. Both plantswent on a small growth spurt, stopping about 14-15 inches from the light.Lifted off the screen a bit, air circulation is better. Had company, I haven’tbeen down there in 2 days, after the last feed. Yellowing is very even acrossthe plant and is predominantly the lower leaves. Newer growth is green and healthy, so no worries. The littlecorner bud is up first, side and top and is showing the effects of decreasedlight. It’s about a 1/3 of the size of the best buds. A couple canopy shots, It's quite easy now to tell one plant from the other. The big bud in the good light is putting on some weight. side top and closeup. The closeup shows trichs forming up and down the stem. I believe resin production is where the LEC-315 is gonna shine, pun intended! Caught in the flash, I didn't notice it until I zoomed in a bit. I'll be watching now though, lol.

Chlorophyll, the most abundant plant pigment, is most efficient in capturing red and blue light. Accessory pigments such as carotenes and xanthophylls harvest some green light and pass it on to the photosynthetic process, but enough of the green wavelengths are reflected to give leaves their characteristic color. An exception to the predominance of chlorophyll is autumn, when chlorophyll is degraded (because it contains N and Mg) but the accessory pigments are not (because they only contain C, H and O) and remain in the leaf producing red, yellow and orange leaves.

The LEC315 bulb. Mounted vertically to even out the light from the center to the edges. The pigtail at the bulb's end glows red and emits light at the center of the footprint. The outer glass bulb is a shield for the two inside bulbs in case the bulb blows, keeping it contained. The inner glass is an arc tube that contains a light emitting gas. Inside of that is the familiar metal halide bulb, by its size it appears to be about 100w.
4200k color temperature. High 92cri, 34,300 initial lumens (109Lm/W). High 90% lumen maintenance at 8,000 hr. High 85% PPF maintenance at 20,000 hr. Anything you could want to know about bulb specs, output, and construction here:

Ran out of season. Summer temps and a couple weeks of rain in April pushed the humidity up to a level that choked the plants. Literally suffocating, stoma closed I believe. I pulled the plants and got them outside, hoping for some recovery. If they turn up to the sky again, I'll likely stay outside until I work something out . Just ordered seeds from Choice Seed Bank M Day Promo. Dinafem White Widow, Flash's Love Potion, and HSO Pineapple Skunk, all Autos. Tons of freebie seeds. Try Try Again! lol! I'm actually looking forward to a proper start all under the LEC315 with some good autos. I'm very happy with the light and was very pleased with where things were heading. My goal was 1oz for each sq ft of my 3x3 for the two photos and i'm reasonably certain the combination of the LEC315 and these 2 strains would have gotten me there. I've cut them down a bit to aid the recovery and with 5 weeks of good growth, the smoke is green but good, especially the pineapple Chunk. From the beginning i noticed what appeared to be excellent resin production on both plants, with trichs extending to the leaf tips. Stretch was slight, but may have been affected by the overveg.

Hey 81camero! Glad to see another LEC user. I just got mine about a week ago. I've got a journal going now, ready to see what these lights can do!

Bummer about the weather messing up your grow. Any word on future projects?

Hey Dr. Frog! 3rd round is well underway. At least a month left. G13 pineapple express, Flash Seeds Stitch's Love Potion, and a Dinafem white widow. All about 4 ft. I think the high UV output from this light will produce the quality and flavor I was looking for when I began to grow. I'll get some pics up over the weekend. I can recommend at least 20 inches to canopy as far as height goes if you have the room. A bit more heat than I had hoped for after moving my setup, but I'm confident I can work it out. The penetration seems quite good, my lower branches all filling in nicely. I,ve got a few pics up in another thread,
Copacabana, Muay Thai, Love Potion LED tent grow

Check it out. I had a copacabana going, but its a much slower strain than the others and its supposed to do better outdoors, I gave it to a friend who has the space and privacy. I was the feeling the need for speed when I ordered seeds and went for some short ones. New to this round is Terpinator which appears to be well supported at this point for helping to create outrageous resin and terpene profiles. Fingers crossed. Time will tell. Glad to have you onboard, keep an eye out and come back in a few days, I'll get something fresh up. I'm still working out my space and I'm not sure I have enough time to commit to a journal, prob next round. Smoke em if you got em buddy, i'm gonna wander over and see what's working in your backyard.

Hey I checked out your plants in Mediscrogs journal. You have some good trees going on. Make a journal! Just upload a few pics here and there. These LEC's need more exposure, especially with growing autos. When I was researching this light there didn't seem to be any journals doing autoflowers with the elite agro bulbs. So I'm sure there's more people like us who are curious to see what they can do.

I grew a freebie G13 PE once, but the soil pH was totally messed up. It came out super short, but produced a huge cola. The flavor is so awesome. When we vaped it, it became instantly obvious why it was called pineapple. [emoji41]
