Old Reviews Carbon filters...

This is fine if you have room in your grow space for the filter, but not everyone does. I push air into the carbon filter which sits outside my tent, and it removes 100% of the odor. I've read that you lose 5-10% of the CFM by pushing instead of pulling through the filter, but my fan has plenty of power to handle it.

And how is the sound when doing that? I think that sounds like what i could do. I hear it can sound like a jet its so loud sometimes.

So how can ppl in apartments use these to there benefit? The walls at my place are pretty thin, i cant have something noticeably loud at all times. Is a set up that would be really quiet going to cost a ton? Im a poor fella!

dont know how big a space you're trying to do... but i'd go with a quieter fan and lower air flow if your space isnt too big....

still the air ionizer... although a bit more up front... makes it much easier installing and trouble free operation... and quieter....

you must replace the uv bulb in an ionizer 1 x per year.... notice carbon filter life expectancy 1.5 years

the 4 inch setup like that would not be quite so loud.... if you use the carbon filter with that 90 CFM bath fan ... only expect about 45 CMF out of it.... with the ionizer... expect 80-90 CFM

Thanks alot JM... i think you just made the picture a lot clearer for me with the bathroom fan. So thats what will be pulling all of the stink out of the air? Is it necessary to even hook it to my light? Couldn't i just have that up high in my room running some tube to the carbon filter/ionizer

np mate... you could have it like that but trust me... its hard to control temps without running good air flow control...

that bath fan is the ticket... 2.5 sones....

it translates a little weird to db or any other measure of noise... but scroll to the table...

ultimately... its very quiet.... bottom line... and thats what i always needed as my grow space has always been in a livng space of some sorts...

:jump: Nice... well im sure i can manage hooking that up. Im thinking since this and my next grow are going to be winter keeping it cool in there shouldn't be a problem til atleast March. Temps have been low 70's this grow thus far with nights like high 60's. Do you think i could get away with not cooling the light for now?

Yeah I think you'll be ok... run the fan constant while lights are on tho.... and upgrade asap to a vented hood.... or cool tube... or something like that... you could even improvise your own... but dont use plexi!!! it gets too hot... preferred tempered glass... but 1/4" would work also... just a few ideas to toss...

Oh yea, my light came with that tempered glass on there. I had it off at first grow but its been on there ever since. I just dont know how to open up the other side of my light.. its kinda hard to explain. I'll go snap a pic or two.. be right back
