Live Stoner Chat Can't smell skunk smell anymore... Nose blind, any ideas?

Any chance that your friend could just be "smelling things"?.. Maybe he was smelling something you smoked earlier? I mean, what you just described doesn't compute in my brain, lol. One plant, in a 2x2 tent, with a carbon filter in the room, and someone smells weed as soon as they walk in the door? I have no clue how that happens. That plant cant be big enough for its smell to travel that far and remain that strong. Especially if it's an auto. I have yet to grow an auto that smelled that strong. I've grown a few photos that got close..

Only thing I can think of is that Phresh sells two different types of filters and it can get tricky getting the correct one. One of the models they make is for eliminating odors (standard inline filter).. The other is an intake filter for keeping bugs, dust ect out of the grow tent. I went on the Phresh website and searched for their 450 cfm filter. The only 450 cfm in their line up is the intake model. The intake model is designed to do just the opposite. It's designed to clean the air that goes into the grow space. It makes no mention of odor elimination. The videos I watched on the intake filter all discussed the filter being used for removing mold spores, dust, and dirt from the air. I would make sure that the filter you have is designed for odor elimination and not just intake. Because growing one auto, in a 2x2 tent, in a completely separate room, with a carbon filter and fan, should not generate enough odor to slap people in the face as soon as they walk in. If the smell was THAT strong, you would smell it yourself as soon as you walk in your home or open the door to the grow space.

Bro, thanks very much for carefully reading through my post, I think you figured out a large part of it.

You're right, it is actually an intake filter...

Things are confusing for me right now, because I honestly can't smell the skunk smell of weed so I don't know if the auto smells. When my friends were here I actually had 4 small photo plants going in full flower and I'm just assuming it still smells, but I'm not certain.

I assume it still stinks because when I get home from being gone a long time I do catch a whiff of skunk right when I get in the door and it very quickly disappears.

It's really weird... I was showing my wife some cheese cbd that was curing and she literally groaned when she smelled the jar because she said it was so dank and skunky. I only smell slightly musty pinapples... No skunky smell at all.

All this to say, I think my house still smells like skunk but I honestly have no idea...

I'll get some legit filters going and see if maybe I get unused to the smell. I think I'm so used to it, I can't smell it.

Thanks again!

@Animatey might try ....... spray some freshener, near return with hvac running and in few minutes go into where guests said they smelled?

Yep, got caught out because I wasn't paying close attention. Have one that's been collecting dust for a couple of years. Been using Phresh for a long time. Frustrating!

Not sure I have Parkinson's, but I did discover a day ago that apparently I have developed a hole in my septum... Unsure if it's related.

Also I can smell everything else just fine, only issue is the skunk smell. I smell when ppl are cooking etc. And my wife usually cannot smell the skunk smell either, so I'm guessing there must be some lingering smell we are becoming immune to.
