Hello Ladies and Gents,

I have been growing weed for someone for a while but they have been doing it wrong. I tried to explain better ways to do it from what I have predominately learned from here. But they are shutting it down and I'm going to purchase the setup and have a crack my self.

Can you help me at all to dial in my setup and my procedure?

Im in the UK so I'll convert to from metric to imperial:

Setup

  • 2 x 2 x 2m / 6.5 x 6.5 x 6.5 ft tent
  • 2 or 3 600w HPS bulbs in 5" cool tubes (thinking 2 if i can get away with it, for heat and utilities)
  • 12" Iso Max extractor fan (unsure of m3/h but it is for sure powerful enough, creates good - pressure
  • 2 passive inlets
  • 2 oscillating fans
Plants and Growing media etc
I'll be planting straight into their final pots. Im guessing I will want to bunch the pots up under the lights as babies until they start to veg out and then give them some space?

Where is the best place to take the temps? I was hanging my thermometers from the chains the held up the lights, I would hang them at the level of the plants under the lights.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would also like to know thoughts on yield i could potential achieve.

Cheers,
TwoTents

Temps taken at canopy level. That's a pretty big space for 12-15 plants (depending on size) thats more than twice the sq ft of my 4X4, and i can run 9 smaller plants.... 1800w of hps would be plenty of light for photo plants, planning on running photos? Reasons for hps? Already own lights?

Other than those points, looks fine.

Im sure 1800w hps is enough light yea- a 600w hps covers 4x4 max so in a square tent your left with 1 corner thats not really getting coverage. Depending on layout of lights.

In 15l airpots you could get some really big plants.
4 plants per light would keep them happy.
Or as @Arthur mentioned using smaller pots/ strains you can get upto 9 plants per light

Thank you both very much for you help. Sorry its taken so long to reply, I have been away from my secure system during Christmas.

I don't want to have too many plants to deal with, id rather have 4 per light. I was thinking something like this (excuse the 5 year old like drawing)

What could my potential yield be? I know this is a hard question to ask, but a ball-park figure? Would 3 oz be unrealistic?

Many thanks again you two, much appreciated!

Very strain dependent on sizes. Sounds like you have all the tools you need.

With proper lst and lighting. And good genetics
You will have zero issues averaging 3oz a plant.
As long as the ph is in check. Temps and rh in order and feeding proper. Should be easy peasy with all that room

How’s it bro? Setup sounds great. Just curious what kind of experience you’ve had growing with your partner. Like room size, pot size, # of plants, what medium you have experience with, etc...?

I’ve only been growing for about a year now. I grow in about a 4’ x 4’ space. 9 gals is the most I’ve grown in that space, & I have to say for me it was overwhelming. It was jam packed in there, I had no room to work. It made watering & lst very difficult.

1 gram per watt of light (hps) is not uncommon, provided your maxing your space.

Good point. If you do not already own lights, you might look into LED. They are cheaper all around. & the results have been tested & proven. Imo LED is the way to go.
