Can somebody explain what Epson salt can do for your plant. I hear about using Epson salt but I also read about making sure to prevent salt build up? What does Epson salt do? Does it help keep the ph right? Does it help certain deficiencys? I remember billywu said he was goin to use some because the ends of his leaves were turning yellow/Brown and since my leaves are doing the same I'm considering getting some. Can someone please tell me the pros/cons of using Epson salt.:peace:

epsom is magnesium sulfate.. i use it on a grapevine more than anything.

i'm not greatly informed on how weed uses mag.. most of the better growers i follow mention using it occasionally for a foliar, but it is a micronutrient. i wouldn't suggest it as a cure for leaf discolouration, only for a mag or sulfur deficiency :) i dunno if this place has a questionnaire.. usually a photo and filling out the form on the particulars of a grow (lighting, medium, nutes, ventilation..) results in the better insights :)

Quite right - Epsom Salts is Magnesium Sulphate. Mg So4.
Will do little for your plants unless they are deficient in Magnesium.
Always good to add it monthly to a photoperiod plant's watering regime at 1 tablespoon per gallon.
In the name Epsom Salts - do not confuse with the build up of salts from the use of Nutrients. Different use of same word.
When there may be a soil problem causing burnt leaves, ailing plants in general - it is quite common for us older growers to flush at 3 to 5 times pot volume with plain PH'd water adding Epsom Salts to the final flush.
It will help clear impurities and aid a Mag. deficiency - does no harm unless abused.
Does this help - not a magic cure all - but good stuff.
Good luck
