I got these lowlife trainwreck auto seeds, planted 2 along with some other auto varieties and of course after ~40 days of veg with the others all flowering and I look at the package and it says 'semi-automatic' in tiny print

this is despite them being sold as autoflower on the website and of course I bought 5 seeds

anyway I am at day 50 now, I have been putting them under cardboard boxes 12/12 for the last week+ and giving bloom nutes to try to force a flower without switching the whole garden to 12/12 but so far no luck

It seems like a shame to give up on them as they are pretty big and healthy

I grow soil 18/6 1khps for all stages

Does anyone have any idea what the expected grow pattern for a "semi-automatic" is?

Not quite sure but I think what you are doing is the best way to speed it up! Should start noticing some changes here soon. Wish I could help more

I believe you have an F1 cross between a photo and an auto but I am just guessing. The F1 cross will not auto but usually have shorter flowering time than the regular strain the auto was crossed with. This would be great on something like a haze or similar long flowering sativa. If you got regular beans than I would breed them together and make some seeds. The F2 will have a few plants that will auto and you should be able to selectively breed the strain auto.
