Cambodian auto

I agree, I dont want a "rudy dominant" hybrid, hence all the backcrossing. Unfortunately, all autos are as you say a ruderalis hybrid. I have heard rumours about autos that don't have rudi in them, but I don't know the specific details, I suppose they are only early finishing photos from long acclimatization and not true autos.
I hope to keep the cambo pure photo as well. Also hope to cross it with other photos. This might be a pain in the ass, though. The cambo will be hard to manage indoors because of the wild and humongous growth. Ridiculously long flowering as well. Up to 20 weeks! Definitely going 12/12 from seed..

It needs to be crossed with auto or some danish early photo in order to survive outdoors in my climate. I will be getting some Kc45 soon. Those might be able to survive outdoors in my climate at 60N, being sativa dom auto.
I will try them outdoors this summer. They reach up to three meters. A cross between kc45(brazilian sativa x rudy) and cambodian landrace will NOT be stealthy!

The idea of saving the mom or better yet cloning is very good in my opinion.
Actually , if you work with clones you can save yourself a lot of time.
As for the finicky Cambo seeds.
You can increase your germination rate by soaking the seeds in GBA first.
But practice with cheap hemp seeds until you get your ratio down just right.
GBA is very powerful and can easily kill your seeds if used in too high a concentration.
Google is your friend in this case.
I no longer use Clonex in my cloners.
Clonex is way too expensive for what it is.
You may also research using superthive which is kelp based.
Its still growth hormones, but toned down quite a bit.
Cheers

Thanks for tips, Cloney
I will soon be out of clonex. Cannot be bought in my country. So options are always welcome. By gba you mean gibberrelic acid? I might try that.
I am building a bubble cloner now, speeds up the process a few days. It fits in my home built terrarium where I keep succulents and cacti. No more room in my Stealth grow cabinet and flower cabinet. I read a great tutorial on bonsai moms on another forum. In short, the moms are small, and the clones even smaller. It gives me room for an extra mom strain or two, which is a plus. In addition, for the next year I will be doing a lot of clones for the breeding project, and the clones don't have to be big, as it is for breeding down multiple generations quickly and just for seeds. Bonsai moms are the way to go..

I have several options similar to superthrive in my country. Read mixed reviews on them, though. Bubble cloners seem to help when the clones are hard to root. Don't know how the Cambodian and rudi will root as clones yet. I still keep a Candida mother that never wants to clone. Got some clonex in powder form from china, hoping that a tiny solution of this in the bubble cloner will do the trick.

Yes Gibberelic acid.
Here are some pictures of a cloner I made last summer.
The first one I bought convinced me how well these things can actually work.
The original cost about $65 US, and mine (all parts included costs about $30 ), and make 6 more clones.
The cover is roughly 30cm x 50 cm. The tub is about 25cm deep.
The only problem with the commericaly bought ones is that the spacing between the plants is very tight.
I made mine from foam inserts bought on amazon, and insert holders are made from 2 1/2 in netpots (which have the bottom cut off.).
Cutting the holes in the cover was easy with a door knob cutter. (nice and slow on a piece of backer board).
Get yourself a bigger than needed air pump and stone.
The science behind the success is lots of oxygen in the water.
Use at least one big airstone, or two if possible.
You will notice rooting will be better, there where there is more air bubbles. so spread it out.
Also, keep your tray on the ground or in the shade and a cool place.
The pump circulating the water can make the water get hot (not good).
I've tried with and without the Clonex (doesn't make a very big difference).
Good bubbles means more!
And keep the stems at least 3-4 cm in the water.

Clone moms is the way to go for sure.
I believe your Candida and my Cannatonic have a lot in common.
I had no problem getting roots from the cannatonic , ready for soil in 8 to 10 days.

If you are going to add something to your water, add phosphorus to help the roots to get going.
