Indoor Calling All Experts!!! Need advice for Snow Ryder.

Do you guys think the size is right for day 18/20? Or are they small?

naww they're ok... sounds like these guys got ya covered pretty good.. but check out FD's guide to hefty autos... I think its in the Cannabis infirmary ____> tips tricks knowledge base....

hope this helps.... autos just have much shorter "veg" and "flower" cycles....

Hey Sniper! Fellow 'Neer! Thanks for the reply. My Light is about a foot more or less above them. They aren't burning. I can raise my hand up pretty close to the HPS before I feel it getting warm enough to burn. This is my first grow of autos. Second grow overall but I screwed up the first one pretty bad. Good luck on your BD's man! Hope it all turns out great!

They are not doing so good today... One of them, the first set of true leaves on the bottom is almost completely dead... Only a small section is still green and moist. They are light yellow and curling underneath on the sides... The one next to it is doing the same thing and the second set of true leaves is turning brown on the very tip and drying up. Dying is seems... :crying: Could I be slowly killing them by stupidly feeding them too early?? They ALL seem to be turning light yellow on the first true leaves. I'm so angry with myself. They were doing great til I fed them... I will do more research but, what do you guys think it is? BAD Nute burn? Will they recover? Or am I done with these 6 now?? Please I need you guy's more than ever now!!

Hey JM I appreciate you stoppin' back! I'm glad you and Sniper let me on to the size being o.k. I also shouldn't expect mine to be the same size as a guy runnin' a 400hps (mine 150w way less lumens) I guess I just got the newbie syndrome lol anxious and nervous as f*ck that I'm gonna screw up lol and I did but, just like anything in life you learn from your mistakes... I just hope I'm not going to lose any or all of them. I will be anxious to see your replies. Thanks again guys!! Heading to the Infirmary NOW!

Spent the last hour or so in the C.I. reading away... According to FD's Deficiency list I'm pretty sure it's nute burn. If it was nitrogen def. do to pH the leaves wouldn't be acting like they are. I'm thinking I burnt them from feeding too early. The leaves are starting at the tips and working their way into the node from the bottom of the plant. Like it describes. I can get some pics up here in a few. I need to flush them properly. I have 6 inch pots so I need 3x's the water and flush them completely? I'm going to go do that right now. From the reading I'm guessing I won't lose the plant but lose the leaves already affected? If I get this fixed will it affect the the yield greatly? Geez, I really did a good job of burning them! Please let me know if I'm properly diagnosing and treating the problem. Thanks guys!

Pics of the problems

Thanks JM. Here's the pics. I meant to get them up earlier. Let me first explain because of my HPS and Camera you can't really see the yellowing of the leaves. You can definitely see the physical curling (maybe the claws TBM I believe, speaks of) and the browning beginning on the tips. I tried to get the best pics I could I just can't get any of the yellowing to show up clearly because of the HPS. I chose the worst 2 of the 6 to show you and one other top view so you can see the curling from above. I will group them by plant so you can get a better idea. Here's the first plant... The leaves are getting crispy. Grrr

Here's the second worst... Not as crispy but getting there. Also, this one has a brown spot starting on the 2nd set of leaves(nodes). That worries me...

Here's the last one pic of another from above to show the curling.

I know I said I was going to flush but I'm waiting for one of you guys to let me know it's o.k. to do it. I don't want to make them any worse. I did make sure there is no water in the run off trays. So, are they burnt and should I flush? Or do I have another more serious problem (not that nute burn isn't serious) to worry about? Thanks again guys. The plants and I appreciate your help!

Okay, things aren't perfect but it's not panic time.

I haven't researched the entire thread to see if there have been any references to pH... I'm also curious as to what "organic mix" you're using. So, two questions for now.... 1) What soil mix are you using? 2) What are you doing to keep your pH in line?

Hey JD,
I am using Scott's Earthgro If you go back a few pages (I'm not sure which... I can move the pic here for you) I took a snap shot of the ingredients on the bag. I wanted to order some "real" MJ geared soil however, I didn't want to wait and didn't have money like that at the time (heavy to ship). So, I'm not proud to say it's wal mart shit but it is what it is... I wasn't having any issues until I started to feed. Ok, about the pH. I have a control tester kit on the way now. Had to toss my other one about a year ago. I am using my well water (tap water). It isn't city water. I was thinking the pH is maybe too LOW and locking out Nitrogen... I have to wait til the kit gets here. I know I should have waited but I thought I was o.k. since no problems had occurred. Newbie mistake. I don't have a pH soil tester but I saw JM recommend one to another member off Amazon on another thread. I bookmarked it and plan on getting it whenever I can. Did I go wrong with choice of soil? Being here in WV I'm not out in the boonies but I don't have easy access to any shops where I can go just buy anything. Have to rely on the Internet for now. What do you suggest I do from here? Flush? Wait on the pH kit? They are stunted a little I believe. I mean they were taking off and them boom. Just slowed down so I know something ain't right. I'm thinking either nute burn or Nitrogen Def. They haven't gotten any "worse" since I've been awake and checkin' on them but, I was warned at the beginning of this thread that organics take longer to show deficiency. So, I've always been aware that things maybe weren't "o.k. til I fed them". Maybe I've just chosen a poor medium for them. Here's that snap shot of the soil ingredients...

i know all about the not being able to get the good soil and i use well water and it comes out the spickit at 7.6 ph till your ph tester comes id try and collect some rain water and id say flush it out but u dont know where ur ph is but if u can get enough rain water use it to flush

I'm almost positive you have a pH issue. Peat has a very low pH and we have no idea what your water pH is. There's not much we can do until you can start checking pH.

If help doesn't come along before you get your kit, feel free to pm me to let me know you've gotten it in and we'll get to work on it. Maybe JM or one of the other mods will swing by with some advice beyond what I have offered.

BTW, what is a "control tester kit"? :peace:

Hey Sniper. Thanks for the well water info. I got a pitcher right now out back and it's pissin' down the rain so hopefully get a good amount quickly.

JD, thanks so much man. I will definitely keep that in mind! I will let you know what goes on with the progress of it getting to me. The PH control test kit is this one...

I had the exact same one a while back but, I had to toss it. I will def let you know if things change.

Thanks TBM. Would the distilled water be better than rain water? Or about the same? I was just looking up trying to find hydro stores in the area... I found one right across the river here in Ohio and I'm both siked and kickin' myself. It just opened up a few months ago. Had no idea it was there. They carry Fox Farm, Earth Juice, Happy Frog, etc... Would I do good with the Happy Frog soil? It's organic right? Me and my girlfriend are gonna go check it out tomorrow or the next day. I probably could have gotten everything there. Oh well, I know its there now! Thanks again for all you guy's replies. I will flush in between waiting for the pH kit. So, would I be good with either rain water or distilled? Or is one better than the other... Only reason I ask is because this is literally chemical valley. Lots and lots of all kinds of plants around here I wonder if our rain is like acid rain. Anyway just thought I would throw that in there in case it does make a difference in the rain water pH. Thanks again guys. I'll follow with an update tomorrow.
