Indoor Calling All Experts!!! Need advice for Snow Ryder.

I'm thinking I should chop her now... The very top of the cola is getting dry... Is that bad??? I'm having flashbacks of my first grow... I waited too long and they went to shit. Should I chop her now? Tomorrow is 10 weeks?? The other two are still sticky as far as the cola and branches. She's starting to dry up at the very top... I'm worried! :(

As another user said (I'm pretty sure it was Mr. Dirt), chop now if you really want to - it's no worries dude. Cure it up, smoke a little and you have a point of ref for the other plants. You have 3, chopping one a week early won't kill ya and you may be spot on for the kind of high you want anyways, so maybe this is the perfect time. How's she handling water in the final push? Most plants will drink like horses at the end of their life cycle.. You're not going to lose an ounce over a week or even more than a full gram. You're not going to drastically change the high or potency at this point either. Just swing it a little more towards one end of the spectrum.

Would she be dry because she's thirsty or because she's ending her life cycle? She's drinking just fine. Maybe she needs a drink. I have to feed the mutant so I'll give her some pH'd water and BS Molasses. I'm sure it won't hurt her at all!

The dryness can very well be from needing water yes, why I ask how fast she's drinking.. if you find her drying out faster than the other girls, then the top bud is drying due to the need for water. Don't forget what TBM says bro -- no paralysis by analysis, it's the worst! :P

You don't have to harvest a plant all at once. You can take half and give the other another week or two then you can compare for next time and see what you like best.

Hey Nelson, Thanks for your advice. I gave her a good watering with pH'd water and BS Molasses. Been almost 4 hours since then I'm gonna go check on her to see if she's getting sticky again. I would like to let her go until she's as potent as she can be. Since I have plenty of smoke for now to let them grow out and dry/cure properly I want to do this as right as I can. I'd be nuts not too! So I'm going to keep a close eye on her. Keep posting pics trying to get as close to the trichs as I can. Keep looking for that dang Jeweler's Loupe! Moving sucks for that! I knew where it was in my old place LMAO now I've got to find it here! It's in some box or bag. I'll keep you guys updated. I'm just a little anxious about this being the first time I'm attempting to harvest properly. I know it will all work out. Just gotta keep an eye on those trichs and water more frequently now towards the end. I wasn't aware they drink more towards the end. Thanks again to WG for putting me on to that bit of important info. Thanks again Nelson!

Hey man, if your pots are getting lighter quicker, they're drinking water quicker. If not, they're not.

Don't change your watering schedule because you found a dry spot on your plant, unless you know you've neglected the plant. When I've been late watering, the whole plant shows it, not just one spot. Plants will usually drink a good bit more water when they're closing out but, you can tell when you pick the pot up that it's dry, or almost dry. And if you're late watering, the leaves will wilt before they start to dry out, at least in my experience.

At this point you're in a position to do whatever you want with the plant. Based on things you've said, you can take it right now, if you want. Or, take some now, some later, without really making a mistake. The longer you leave her, the more couch lock. If you like that kind of effect, let her go.

Hey JD. I know what you mean. I did water her yesterday she was very light. Hell I just got in tonight and checked her and she was light again! So I gave her more water n molasses. I even did it to the other two. All Three seem to be drinking A LOT. They lighten up within 24 hours! Why is her cola drying? That's my biggest concern. The tippy top is dry and odorless. She has no smelly sticky top anymore... But her body of the cola is still sticky, stinky, and wet. The reason I keep bringing up the hairs is because I've never seen bud that's cut dried and cured with white hairs unless it's the STRAIN. White Widow, etc... So her cola has like 90% or more of the hairs dark red or rusty colored but 10% or less still white. I'll post some pics in a few. I also cut out nutes on the other two now as well. They both seem like they will go longer. Also, what if the calaxes aren't swelling anymore? Is that bad for potency? I'm asking all these questions because I'm wondering do you just watch the trichs and nothing else?? I was thinking it's a combo between Trichs, leaves, and hairs but I'm assuming I'm dead wrong now. The end of this grow has left me with more questions than I had in the beginning. lol I want her to be as potent as possible, that's my goal. Just with no ambers in the trichs it's hard for a newbie like me to know exactly when to chop. I guess she'll go a few more days. Or maybe she does have almost another week to go. From what you say it seems she could go now or wait if I want more potent BUT when does she start to LOSE potency? Will the trichs reverse and start to go clear again?
