In this grow, Dutch Passion Mazar and Night Queen photoperiod varieties were grown. It is worth saying that the pictures from this grow came when the grower was still in the 'learning phase' about LED use and control. So the grower commented that this was not quite the fully optimized grow which he usually produces as he dialled in the conditions and adjusted to LED growing.
A slight mistake was made with too much water in the beginning phase, resulting in root development which was a little slower than normal. (LED grown plants often transpire less than plants grown under HPS due to lower ambient heat levels. This means that water uptake with LED can be lower than HPS.)
Ventilation was also felt to be sub-optimized for the 9 photoperiod plants in this grow, space was limited with 9 plants. However, the end product was excellent quality. With a strong Indica dominant effect from both varieties, a strong body rush, and a great feel good high from the indica's. Great for relaxing and sleeping, or a quiet night in.

The grow was done with a single SolarSystem 550 but a second one was added for the last 3 weeks of bloom which significantly helped the final yield. The spectrum control allows the grower to use a blue dominant spectrum for early growth and a red dominant spectrum for bloom. Photo's are taken in a white dominant spectrum for ease of viewing.
The SolarSystem 550 has a power draw of 400W on full power, with adjustable intensity and spectrum control. It is fully programmable and used by many large scale legal growers.
