Welcome. So happy to have you along... was planning on tagging a bunch of people who I’ve chatted with and crossed paths with in the past but since I hadn’t been around for quite some time I figured I’d just do my thing for now and not bother anyone so it’s great to already see the interest in this grow... I hope to learn a few things from this and maybe even provide some insight to others who are planning on growing this up n the future!subbed
Thanks again. Always a pleasure to see you around! In regards to your seed starting thread, I was one of the very fortunate ones to get all your insights and tips prior to that thread! I wouldn’t be shocked if I was the one that broke the camel’s back with you always answering the same questions to newbies and that prompted you to create your thread! Lol. Since you first shared your methods with me, I haven’t looked back!Wishing you the best of luck on this grow! I am glad that you found my seed thread useful. I encourage anyone with germ issues ro give it a read. This time of year is hard for some people as the temps have gone down tremendously vs a month ago. I actually had to bust out my hesting mat and thermostat. I have her set at 85f. My big tent claims 84F at the top. BUT, take a reading at the bottom near a plant and the temps are 70F. That is a 14F difference and the differnce is so great that I would place money on it that a seed would not germ at 70f. The same exact seed would most likely germ and be up above ground in a few days. Anyone who attempts to germ in winter months should invest in a heating mat/themostat if you are unable to have consistent temps 80-85F. Or struggle and blame the breeder.
As for your Ghost Toof and Forum Stompers, they are doung fine! Both wonderful strains! Forun stomper can get tall. I really like the size , shape and speed of Ghost Toof. It was actually pretty fast for me. Forum Stomper went a little longer due to size. I really like the few Cookies crosses from Mephisto. Nice and frosty, great for Rosin pressing. I will be following closely. Take care! SLOW
Hi, I would ask one of the resident experts on the autopot query like @ St. TomHey guys! Well, been busy with the holidays and such. At work now but I’m planning on posting some pics tonight. Had a question for any and all on here at AFN... as mentioned this is my first Autopot run and was wondering about something... my plants seem to be running a little longer than I initially anticipated- was wondering if the Autopots could be the reason? So far I do like their simplicity, and I’m considering buying a few more but was curious if anyone else has noticed a slightly longer cycle? Wondering if it has something to do with the absence of a “dry” period as my plants generally dry out more when I’m hand watering... all comments and input are welcome...also thinking it might just be due to variation in phenotypes... I’m running them all off the same feed. Half are looking about 2 weeks ahead of the rest... in bud development at least...
Good call, and thanks for the input... was planning on a post in the Autopot section as well. I noticed some of the grow diaries in there seem to run pretty long, but I also haven’t grown some of the DP strains I see going in excess of 90 days in there.. if I’m not mistaken I think I’ve seen some go past 110 days... not sure I see the merit or point of an auto that takes that long.... but that’s just me I guess... thanks again and Happy New Year! All the best in 2020!Hi, I would ask one of the resident experts on the autopot query like @ St. Tom
I found my 1st grow with autopots took longer but operator error was definitely a factor in my grow.
Plants that take longer likely tend to be larger, perhaps are more potent, may have more and/or better 'character' or terpenes -- So they can be worth the time, particularly if growing for yourself, for quality, variety, etc. And sometimes individual plants or strains just take that long.... if I’m not mistaken I think I’ve seen some go past 110 days... not sure I see the merit or point of an auto that takes that long.... but that’s just me I guess...
Are you using the large Autopots? If so, yes they do seem to extend most peoples grow times. I believe the depth of the roots can extend grow cycles alone. Rootbounding triggers Autos Faster. You may want to try the smaller Autopots if you want a faster route?Hey guys! Well, been busy with the holidays and such. At work now but I’m planning on posting some pics tonight. Thanks for suggestion @slowandeasy ... was actually looking into ordering the smaller pots (2.2gal I think...) because I’m using the standard 3.9gal pots right now and was thinking the very same thing. I recall you and lunarman having this discussion a few years ago- haven’t seen him around at all lately. Thought about cutting them down but honestly don’t want to butcher the pots as there may be a time and a place down the road that I’d want 3.9 gal pots. Right now isn’t the time...Are you using the large Autopots? If so, yes they do seem to extend most peoples grow times. I believe the depth of the roots can extend grow cycles alone.
