Budget setup?

@THE BEAR Rocking that budget friendly soil setup and love the early ingenuity. A lot like my first stab at it, wooden board to cordon off a gap, cheap blurple, and a pot of mud. Cheese auto stank out the whole ground floor
How I'd love to find a few hundred in an old coat pocket ... get a spider farmer grow light for my 2.5*2.5 and a hydro kit, run DWC and blow up my yields... but til that day we make do :smokeit:

Yes...Unfortunately, it is expensive, and many people cannot purchase such a device for themselves. In general, I noticed a trend that people began to invest their money somewhere in investments. I do not know if this is good or bad, but it pleases me. If earlier many people were ready to buy some necessary goods without any problems, now they are hesitating between the right thing and investments. It's a pity that half of these people have not even read the investment basics in the articles https://thefrugalexpat.com/dave-ramsey-budget-percentages/. And when you communicate with such people, they have no idea what and where to invest. After all, the main thing for them is to make a profit.

So I just got on Amazon and found the cheapest items I could find.
2x2x3 grow tent $43
viparspectra P600 grow light $49.99
4inch Carbon filter 29.98
8ft 4inch flexible ducting with 2 clamps $7.99
4 inch inline fan $24.99
Timer $5.99
2 Rope hangers $6.99
Thermometer/ hygrometer $7.00
Small fan for air circulation $6.99
Total- $181.92

Now a lot of these items looked super cheap and it wouldn't cost much to upgrade to a slightly nicer item. But I'm going to say this is about as cheap as I would go for an indoor grow setup.
I started off with a $30 100w led light, that I still use, and grew some pretty decent plants in my closet. I used $8 worth of soil and $10 worth of grow bags. Spent maybe $20 on nutes and ph down. I already had a cheap ph pen to ph the water for my peppers. One tiny usb fan to circulate air. Granted I am in a legal state so I’m not to concerned about the smell. I have 3 tents now and have spent more money than I can remember on my grow but you can definitely grow decent weed for $100 or less depending on how stealth you need to be. Honestly I think I’ve spent more on seeds than I have all my grow equipment. Actually, I know I have.

As a certified budget grower myself I take some respectful objection to your view! It's more about expectation. My cheapo lights yield really not much over 2oz per run, which for many would be insufficient, but for me and the person I help for medicinal smoke, it's more than enough.
My home rig lights were under 50 euros, tent 2.5*2.5 tent was 65 second hand, biobizz light mix soil + grow + bloom liquid nutes, extraction fan and circulation fans, pretty much 200 euros all in. Latest yield was 62g, from the coffeeshops here that would cost 620 euros.
Tldr budget setups are fine if you manage expectations

The bloom picture is that 2 computer fans I see rigged up to help your air flow?

I started off with next to nothing. Yes you can get away with a grow on a real tight budget but honestly it’s not worth your stress doing this unless you’re an experienced grower. Having a shit setup is a nightmare and makes your growing hobby stressful and less enjoyable. I bought my shit over time. Put some good money towards a good carbon filter (rhino pro), and a really good extractor fan. From there you have tons of cheaper options for lighting. Try save $500

My setup I found it on marketplace on Facebook haha and than I came across a kijiji ad about lights and stuff so I messaged the guy and he gifted me some hid lights and some cheap red and blue light only grow lights that I can buy for 29$ each grow bar but they where gifted for free and I paid 60$ for a 3*3*6 grow tent And than I found a carbon filter and cheap intake for 50$ on Amazon and bought some nurt for 40$ and I’m here slowly trying out my bad green thumb

My entire set up cost £250. This has nothing to do with is it worth growing. Here are some of my budget plants. All in a 2x2 tent mars ts1000 and organic soil. 6 -10 oz everytime.

So what does everyone think when you hear budget setup? I know what I think. And in my opinion if you aren't willing to spend $250-$350 on a setup, you shouldn't be looking to grow cannabis indoors. For $329.99 on Amazon you can get a 2x2 grow tent that includes everything but potting soil or growing media "for hydro guys" and seeds. Obviously to get an optimal grow environment you may need more things like a heater, humidifier, dehumidifier, air conditioning unit or whatever... but this $330 kit gets you growing. Now maybe you can find something cheaper. There is a mars hydro kit that is $10 cheaper. Maybe you are growing in a closet and don't need a tent. Maybe you can get all these things a little cheaper somewhere else. But at the end of the day it is of my opinion that if you can't spend the money for a simple setup like this, you should not be trying to grow indoors.
What does everyone else think? Am I wrong? What are your opinions? this is about 16 cubic feet and 4 square feet. Maybe you can find a smaller grow tent kit... maybe it's 18x18. But I think for anyone serious about trying to grow their own bud, $350 and a 2x2 space in your house or apartment is what it's going to cost and if you can't spend that... just keep buying for a dealer or dispensary.
