Breeding better auto-flowers in groups

I have been reading up on breeding, selecting, ect ect for the last couple of weeks and this would make things alot smoother and get alot further down the road with development at a faster pace I would think! especially having several working on the same thing.. Hell of an Idea! I would love to be apart this and help out in any way I could!! I would love to these autos take off!!

My intent was to spur AFN members into action. I already help with one group. And I don't have time for a second group.

This is how I would go about it. :joint:

Step 1
An AFN member decides to start a breeding group. :booya:

Step 2
Get volunteers to help

Step 3
Decides what the goal of the breeding group will be and what "Trait" they will be working on. :D

Step 4
Research the plant "Trait" the group will be breeding, if possible.

Step 5
Make a Breeding plan, if possible. :head:

Step 6
The group assembles seed stock needed to work from. :dance2:

Step 7
Breed your ass off. :bone:

I literally got started the day you posted this...Hell within about 10 minutes I think it was. Squid is on the rise. Look out before too long, because this is co-op and won't take as long. And my partner and I have some reeeeaaaallll goodness coming your way when we get done, especially for you Med users. We'll have something for you 'yielders' too. :D

This sounds like a great Idea but. How are you going to know what is a phenotype or a genotype is about your biggest problem I see. If you have many different growers in many different envirnments even if they were given clones, the results would very greatly. How will you know what trait was genectic and could be passed on, or just a pheno? Also, whatever trait is chosen to breed for, given many plants expressing that trait are identified and pollenated, the resulting seeds must be also graded by potencey of the mother, right? There is no way, other than testing,to know what is the potency. The grower smokes it and reports to a central person with the results. Right? I am smoking some 25% thc hazes right now and can not get anything with any auto right now.If I smoke a sample and someone smoking regs tries the same thing, we are going to have different results, right. I think these collectives are a wonderfull idea, but maybe must be done in one geographical area, and the same person must sample all mothers. Just my thoughts.

Fantastic.I'd LOVE to help graph some solid Strains to help ease the pain of illness and for science and data too.Count me in if I can be of any help whatsoever. :wiz:

The methods and screening the group uses to conducts the breeding and testing will depend on the trait or traits being worked on

A group breeding for increased Seed Size or other Single Trait when compared to a group breeding to demarcate auto-flowering plants to a new environments or "Climate Zones" would operate quite differently from each other in many ways.

You could always progeny test each other's lines for the trait being selected; as in potency.

 great news!

Few days ago I read this thread and I thought to write in it but I forgot...
We are trying to do the same as you are talking about in cannabiscafe forum, we have opened a thread where the people share seeds of our crosses and some polen...
Last days, I don't know why, but some growers are finding a lot of sterile males  It's so rare...

If you want we can use a bridge and make a group even more strong!

This is why I don't think this would work throught a website. One person needs to be in charge and make selections from many TRUSTED, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND HONEST people running grow ops. It's just too hard online because you don't really know the people and some people may claim to know more then they do or even outright lie about the plant growth.
I'm not saying its impossible to do over the web but it is much better in person.
