Back in the saddle again...
The plan was to wait until September, but I just couldn't take it anymore. New growers: the line about growing weed being addictive is NOT a clever joke. I managed to figure out a way to run both the tent and the AC if it's needed, though it has been a very mild summer so far. Now, using the microwave, toaster, etc. at the same time is a bit tricky. Basically only the AC or the microwave can be plugged in at the same time. Still, anything for weed, right?

I set up a new tent for this year. Gone is the One Deal (remember that name and avoid at all costs) and in it's place is a Gorilla Grow Tent. I started out with a smaller one, so I was familiar with the quality. I also replaced the carbon filter, though I'll bet it really didn't need replacing yet. What good is a fan and filter if your tent is falling apart? The only other addition is one of those automatic fire extinguishers. So now I can act like I'm all responsible, or at least I can as soon as all of you stoners forget that I grew a for a year without one...

The Set-up:

3'x3'x7' Gorilla Grow Tent (approx. 90x90x210 in centipedes)
Hydroponics Hut PG-260 LED panel (259.2 watts output; 24/7)
150 Watt Sun System HPS light, primarily for heat, so it won't be on until later in the grow.
4 yellow-base Air-Pots
4 inch inline fan with carbon scrubber and variac for speed control; passive intake
2 small spring mount fans for circulation
fire extinguisher

The Soil and Nutes:

Soil is mixed in the following ratio: 6 cups Fox Farms Happy Frog, 2 cups perlite, 1 tablespoon Azomite
Entire Fox Farms Dirty Dozen kit except for Flower's Kiss, plus Kelp Me, Kelp You and Wholly Mackerel
Cal/Mag and Silica Supplement

The Line up:

Mephisto Genetics Fantasmo Express.
Sweet Seeds Red Poison
Sweet Seeds Sweet Trainwreck
Mephisto Genetics Toof Decay

Our story so far:

Seeds were soaked overnight then just dropped in the soil on Wednesday the 3rd, and all four popped up on Saturday the 6th. Still got a week and a half of the slows...

All you need is air and tv dinners lol you're good. Addictive is an understatement haha. Nice setup.

The first two weeks, all plants are getting the following mixture in their water (per gallon):

Big Bloom 3 tsp
Boomerang .5 tsp
Wholly Mackerel .25 tsp
Armor Si .5 tsp
Cal/Mag 2 mg

I've never fed right from the start before, but I thought I'd try following the Fox Farms schedule a little closer than normal, including the flushes I usually ignore. I'll be watching closely for any sign of nute burn, though.

DAY 7: Yeah, I'm calling it day seven. I'm counting from sprouting, not from seed. Those of you who argue for counting from seed drop make a very good case, and my brain almost agrees. But the sprouting is just too much like a birthday for me to ignore. Speaking of which, time for some baby pictures!

Nutes are still the same. My set up is getting the test this week: high 80s to low 90s (generally 30-32c). So far the AC and the lights are doing fine together. Ah...gardening in comfort!

By the way, Toof Decay is the second strain I've grown twice-can't get a better recommendation than that!
