Indoor BR549's Poisoned Fantasmo Trainwreck Decay Extravaganza!

DSC_0007_zpss0g7vlfz.jpg

Just a group shot in the tent tonight; this is a 'nute change' post rather than an actual update. I'm switching to the next step tonight (Day 12):

All per gallon:
Big Bloom 3 tsp
Grow Big 1 tsp
Boomerang .5 tsp
Kangaroots .25 tsp
Microbe Brew .5 tsp*
Wholly Mackerel .25 tsp
Armor Si .5 tsp
Cal/Mag 5 ml

*I use the Microbe Brew at full strength as I'm assuming there's nothing the plants are going to take up anyway; I mean, it's for the soil critters, right? And this isn't "autoflower soil"; it's just soil.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonus addition: When I pH tested my water after adding the cal/mag and silica, it seemed lower than usual. My tap water is generally balls-on 7pH (it's an industry term), so I grabbed a glass and tested it. 9!!!!. I broke out the cleaning fluid, cleaned the probe, broke out the calibration fluid and...7.0 just as it was supposed to be! That's when I realized the glass I grabbed was the one I'd been using for lemonade...

DAY 17: Just another group shot; there's plenty of time for glamour shots when they grow up, you pervs! It's their first day of ponytailing; don't they look cute with their leaves up like that?

I am digging the litte pony tailed girls, subbed up for this one

DAY 20: Another nute change, all per gallon:

Big Bloom: 3 tsp
Grow Big: 1 1/2 tsp
Boomerang: 1/2 tsp
Microbe Brew: 1/2 tsp
Wholly Mackerel: 1/4 tsp
Kelp Me...: 1/4 tsp

For those of you who use Fox Farms, I'm at that point pre-flowering where everything stays the same except you alternate Microbe Brew and Kangaroots with the exception of the Big Bloom dropping to 1.5 tsp in one week. I'll be doing that, but not posting each time I switch back and forth. So it's smooth sailing until the end of the stretch as far as nutes go. By the way, that bit on the Fox Farms feeding chart where they start with the Open Sesame a week early? Don't. Yeah, I know; you know more than the experts. So did I. I tried it. Don't. You end up with a short plant with lottsa cute li'l buds. No flowering nutes until the end of the stretch!

One problem I have with growing is making assumptions. For example, I knew Fantasmo Express was a larger plant than the others, but I figured that since it took longer to mature, it wouldn't matter much early in the grow. And, just as I predicted, it...uh...well, it already dominates the tent, doesn't it? (And, though I'm loathe to speak ill of anyone's children, Mitch, she's a bit of a lush...)

DAY 29: Holding steady, nute-wise. Plants seem to be doing fine. Here they are:

Fantasmo Express:

Here's a close up of the top. As you can see, while the other three are showing sex, this one's shoving it in your face and telling you to take her now or she'll crush your spine...

I'll have to back off on the nutes a bit on the Toof Decay; it's getting a touch of burn. And while the Fantasmo Express seems to be doing fine as it is, it's getting close to trim time for the other three; leaf tucking is getting a bit difficult.

Oops. Just screwed that up. The Fantasmo Express is just growing too fast, so I decided to try supercropping. Well, I definitely heard the stem snap. In fact, it snapped off in my hands. I guess we'll have to call this "radical topping" and see what happens...

Edited to add: I just reread the article at Grow Weed Easy on supercropping again. Why didn't I do that before trying it? Dumb ass.

DAY 36: Five weeks in; all plants are still in the stretch, or at least as best they can with my ham handed "training"...
No nute changes.

Here's a close up of my "supercropping" which has become a "how severely can you top an auto" experiment...

Here's a close up of her top, so you can see that, although I do stupid things, I can learn from them. This is just short of two days after the break.

I find it interesting that this one has "staggered leaves" rather than branching at the same spot on both sides. Good or bad? I dunno. But interesting.
