New Grower BR549's First Grow (or, I finally get off my ass...)

Welcome. I'm near the end of my first grow and I am very happy with the results so far. Just tried some bits I had dried from last week and woooh!

Looks like you are ready. As I recently learned- the first month is very long, the middle month is very exciting, and the last few weeks will teach you patience.
I'm gonna miss my plants when I harvest, they have become like pets. They are not as lively as a turtle but they have their own serene beauty.

Well, the first one was peaking out of the soil when I got home tonight, but I'll wait for tomorrow and hopefully all three can be labeled "day one".

TIP:
water with a eye dropper or a spray bottle until the roots get established.
you dont want to disturb the tiny roots.

Okay, I've got two and a half plants at this point (the third one is just peaking out of the dirt), but I'll be damned if I can get a decent picture. Are they really supposed to be this small? I try to focus on them, and the camera focuses on a chunk of perlite instead. I know that these are much smaller plants than the old ones I used to see growing outside back in the day, but do they start out exceptionally small as well?

Never mind, I just did a quick search of other grows, and I guess it's perfectly normal. Whew! It's so easy for a noob to panic!

Some are small some are big.
as long as you see steady growth your good.
good things come in small pkgs.

I got the soil tester today and checked; the soil is at about 6.8 if I'm reading it right; on the high side, but not bad. They were pretty dry, so I gave them some water with a bit of Armor Si added; I'll test again tomorrow and see if that brought it down any. More good news: the largest of the three, while still quite small (of course!) is now large enough for me to focus the camera. It's under the veg only lights, so it looks ghastly, but at least you can tell it's not a watermelon!

Hmmm....I got a bit sloppy with the water. I either need to get glasses or get neater...

Looking good man, great setup too. Love your enthusiasm, I'm the same I've my first microgrow on day23 and I'm itching to plant 2 in my tent setup.
